Rapid heartbeat and dizziness?
About a week ago, I consulted a doctor at a clinic due to chest tightness.
The doctor noted that my heart rate was quite fast and suggested that it might be due to stress or other psychological factors, prescribing medication to help slow it down.
However, I forgot to mention that I have been experiencing dizziness lately, which is more pronounced in the mornings when I wake up.
I feel a sense of pressure and heaviness in my head, which slightly improves as my energy levels increase.
Engaging in activities like walking or doing something distracting helps, but static activities like studying at a desk or scrolling on my phone make the dizziness more noticeable.
It has been almost two weeks, and the dizziness hasn't improved.
While it doesn't severely affect my balance or cause significant visual disturbances, the persistent pressure and heaviness in my head are quite uncomfortable.
Could this be related to my fast heart rate? What could be the underlying cause? Additionally, I have hard lumps in my neck and groin, but those have been present for a long time, possibly many years.
Could they be related? Thank you, doctor!

Hello: If you frequently experience a rapid heartbeat and dizziness, please go to the hospital for an examination.
Conditions such as anxiety, high stress, hyperthyroidism, or arrhythmias can cause a rapid heartbeat.
Additionally, if you notice any lumps in your body, you should also seek medical evaluation to determine what they are.
Thank you for your message!

More Info
Fast heart rate, or tachycardia, can indeed be associated with various factors, including stress, anxiety, and underlying medical conditions. In your case, the combination of a rapid heartbeat and dizziness could be indicative of several interconnected issues.
Firstly, it's important to understand that the heart rate can increase in response to stress or anxiety. When you're under stress, your body releases adrenaline, which can lead to an elevated heart rate. This physiological response is often referred to as the "fight or flight" response. If you have been experiencing significant stress or anxiety, it could explain the rapid heart rate you've been experiencing.
Dizziness, particularly the sensation of heaviness or pressure in the head, can also be linked to anxiety and stress. When you are anxious, your body may hyperventilate, leading to changes in carbon dioxide levels in the blood, which can cause dizziness or a feeling of lightheadedness. Additionally, if your heart is racing, it may not be pumping blood effectively, which can also lead to feelings of dizziness or lightheadedness.
The fact that your symptoms improve with physical activity or distraction suggests that they may be related to anxiety or stress rather than a purely physiological issue. Engaging in activities that require focus or movement can help redirect your mind and alleviate some of the symptoms.
Regarding the hard lumps you mentioned in your neck and groin, if they have been present for a long time and have not changed in size or characteristics, they are less likely to be related to your current symptoms. However, it is always prudent to have any new or concerning lumps evaluated by a healthcare professional to rule out any potential issues.
Given that your symptoms have persisted for two weeks despite medication, it would be advisable to follow up with your healthcare provider. They may consider additional evaluations, such as blood tests, imaging studies, or referrals to specialists, to rule out any underlying conditions that could be contributing to your symptoms.
In summary, the connection between your fast heart rate and dizziness could be multifactorial, primarily influenced by stress and anxiety. However, it is essential to have a thorough evaluation to ensure that there are no other underlying medical conditions contributing to your symptoms. If your symptoms worsen or you experience new symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
