Hello, do you know about medical cosmetics?
Hello Dr.
Chen,
I consulted an article in the Dachen Report back in July that introduced medical cosmetics.
It mentioned that the product could effectively cover post-surgical scars and dark circles under the eyes, among other things, and that it is already available in Taiwan.
However, I have recently inquired at many places, and everyone seems to either not know about it or only recommend regular commercial cosmetics.
I am urgently looking to find out where I can purchase similar products.
Could you please reply to me? Thank you.

Hello: Regarding your question, medical cosmetics are typically formulated with special attention to their ingredients, making them less likely to cause sensitivity and easier to cleanse.
There are indeed some brands that specialize in producing such products, but it is not convenient to directly provide brand names online.
I suggest you consult several dermatology clinics and ask the physicians to recommend brands that are more suitable for your specific condition in person.

Understanding medical cosmetics and their effective solutions can be quite challenging, especially when navigating through the myriad of products available in the market. Medical cosmetics, also known as cosmeceuticals, are products that combine cosmetic and pharmaceutical properties. They are designed to improve the appearance of the skin while also providing therapeutic benefits. These products often contain active ingredients that are scientifically proven to address specific skin concerns, such as scars, dark circles, and other imperfections.
To find effective medical cosmetics, it is essential to understand the ingredients and their functions. Common ingredients in medical cosmetics include hyaluronic acid, retinoids, peptides, and various botanical extracts. For instance, hyaluronic acid is known for its ability to retain moisture and plump the skin, making it beneficial for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Retinoids, derived from vitamin A, are effective in promoting cell turnover and can help in reducing the visibility of scars and improving skin texture.
When searching for medical cosmetics that can effectively cover surgical scars or dark circles, it is advisable to consult with a dermatologist or a licensed skincare professional. They can provide personalized recommendations based on your skin type and specific concerns. Additionally, they may have access to specialized products that are not readily available in retail stores.
In Taiwan, as mentioned in your inquiry, there are indeed medical-grade cosmetics available that are specifically formulated to address issues like scars and dark circles. However, these products may not be widely advertised or easily found in regular cosmetic stores. It is often best to visit dermatology clinics or specialized skincare centers where professionals can guide you to the right products. They may also offer samples or trials to help you determine which products work best for your skin.
For those who are unable to visit a dermatologist, online resources can also be helpful. Websites dedicated to skincare and dermatology often provide reviews and information about various medical cosmetics. However, it is crucial to ensure that the sources are credible and that the products have been clinically tested for safety and efficacy.
In summary, understanding medical cosmetics involves recognizing the active ingredients and their intended effects on the skin. For effective solutions to cover scars and dark circles, consulting with a skincare professional is highly recommended. They can provide tailored advice and access to specialized products that may not be available through conventional retail channels. Additionally, leveraging online resources can enhance your knowledge and help you make informed decisions about your skincare regimen. Always remember to patch-test new products to avoid adverse reactions, especially if you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies.
