Will this lead to pregnancy?

Hello doctor, yesterday my boyfriend and I impulsively decided to try having intercourse, but neither of us had done it before.
We agreed that he would only insert a little bit.
After he inserted a small amount, I felt a lot of pain, so I moved, and he lost the original position.
Although he only inserted a little, we didn't use a condom, and he didn't ejaculate.
I'm wondering if I could get pregnant from this.
My period is due in four days.
I've heard that it's safe not to get pregnant during the safe period; is that true? I just want to know if I could be pregnant...
Also, since he didn't fully penetrate, my hymen didn't break.
Does that mean I could still get pregnant?

When it comes to the risk of pregnancy after minimal intercourse, it's important to understand a few key points about how conception occurs and the factors that can influence it.
Firstly, pregnancy can occur even with minimal penetration, especially if there is any pre-ejaculate fluid (pre-cum) present. This fluid can contain sperm, and while the amount may be small, it is still possible for it to lead to pregnancy. The fact that your boyfriend did not ejaculate does reduce the likelihood of pregnancy, but it does not eliminate the risk entirely.
Regarding the timing of your menstrual cycle, you mentioned that your period is due in four days. The concept of "safe days" or the "fertility awareness method" suggests that there are times in a woman's cycle when she is less likely to conceive, typically during her menstrual period or just before it. However, this method is not foolproof. Sperm can live inside the female reproductive tract for up to five days, and ovulation can sometimes occur earlier or later than expected, making it difficult to predict safe days accurately.

As for the concern about your hymen and whether it needs to break for pregnancy to occur, it is a common misconception. Pregnancy can happen regardless of whether the hymen is intact. The hymen is a thin membrane that partially covers the vaginal opening, and its status does not affect the possibility of sperm entering the vagina.

In summary, while the risk of pregnancy from minimal intercourse without ejaculation is lower than with full intercourse, it is not zero. If you are concerned about the possibility of pregnancy, you might consider taking a home pregnancy test if your period does not arrive as expected. Additionally, if you are sexually active and wish to avoid unintended pregnancies in the future, discussing contraceptive options with a healthcare provider would be beneficial.

Lastly, if you have any further concerns about your sexual health or potential pregnancy, it is always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide personalized advice and support. They can also help you understand your menstrual cycle better and discuss effective contraception methods to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the future.
