Knee pain when fully extending the leg after a fall?


After slipping while running on a rainy day, I hit my right knee on the ground.
Now, there is pain above the right side of the knee when fully extended (pressing on that area also causes pain).
There is no pain when the knee is bent or slightly bent, but when I forcefully extend and then bend it, there is a definite popping sound, and it feels like the patella is vibrating.
I would appreciate any advice from a doctor.
