Red small granules on the nipple?
Recently, I noticed a small red growth on my left nipple, and that nipple appears slightly more protruded compared to the other side.
It doesn't hurt or itch.
My menstrual period has also been a few days late, and I have tested negative for pregnancy.
Is there any connection between these symptoms?

Dear Anonymous: It's okay, just observe the small flesh growth.
If there are any symptoms of enlargement, then a clinic examination is necessary.

A red bump on the nipple can be concerning, but it is important to understand that there are various potential causes, and not all of them are indicative of serious health issues such as cancer. The presence of a red bump on the nipple, especially if it is not painful or itchy, could be due to several benign conditions.
One common cause of a red bump on the nipple is a condition known as a papilloma, which is a benign growth that can occur in the ducts of the breast. These growths are usually not cancerous and can sometimes cause changes in the appearance of the nipple, such as slight protrusion. Other possibilities include sebaceous cysts, which are small lumps filled with oil and can appear red if inflamed, or even a condition known as periareolar dermatitis, which can cause redness and irritation around the nipple area.
In some cases, hormonal changes can also lead to changes in the breast tissue and the appearance of the nipple. Since you mentioned that your menstrual cycle has been delayed, it is possible that hormonal fluctuations are contributing to the changes you are observing. Hormonal imbalances can lead to various breast changes, including tenderness, swelling, and alterations in the skin and tissue of the breast.
It is important to monitor the bump for any changes in size, color, or symptoms. If the bump becomes painful, starts to discharge fluid, or if you notice any additional symptoms such as significant changes in breast shape or texture, it would be advisable to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough examination and may recommend imaging studies, such as a mammogram or ultrasound, to assess the area further.
In terms of your menstrual cycle, if you are experiencing irregularities, it may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare provider. They can help determine if there are underlying hormonal issues that need to be addressed. Stress, changes in weight, and other lifestyle factors can also impact menstrual regularity.
As for the red bump itself, while it may not be directly linked to your menstrual cycle, it is always wise to keep an eye on any changes in your body. If you have concerns about breast health or if the bump persists, a visit to a breast specialist or a gynecologist would be a prudent step. They can provide a more definitive diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment if necessary.
In summary, while a red bump on the nipple can be concerning, it is often due to benign causes. However, monitoring the situation and consulting with a healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation is essential for peace of mind and to ensure your breast health is maintained.
