Masturbation can lead to insomnia?

Sometimes before bed, I have physiological urges and watch adult films.
I can't resist and end up masturbating, but after ejaculation, I find it impossible to fall asleep; I have no sleepiness at all, even though I'm very tired, often staying awake until almost dawn.
Online information suggests that masturbation can actually help with insomnia, but I can't seem to sleep.
Why is this happening? It's unlikely to be overly aroused for five or six hours straight, right? Additionally, if I masturbate in the morning, I can fall asleep, but the situation at night is completely the opposite.

Basically, there is no direct correlation between masturbation and insomnia.
However, if masturbation leads to excessive excitement or anxiety, it may result in insomnia.
Therefore, you might want to consider how your emotions change after masturbation, or what emotional states typically trigger your urge to masturbate, which could also contribute to insomnia.
Of course, it's important to rule out the influence of caffeine, tea, or other substances as well.

Masturbation is a natural and common behavior, and its effects on sleep can vary significantly from person to person. The relationship between masturbation and insomnia is complex and can be influenced by several factors, including psychological, physiological, and situational elements.

Firstly, it’s important to understand the physiological response to masturbation. During sexual arousal and orgasm, the body releases a variety of hormones, including oxytocin and prolactin, which can induce feelings of relaxation and drowsiness in some individuals. However, this is not a universal response. For some, particularly those who may experience heightened anxiety or overstimulation, the act of masturbation may lead to increased alertness rather than relaxation. This can be particularly true if the individual is watching pornography, which can create a heightened state of arousal and excitement, making it difficult to wind down afterward.

In your case, it seems that the stimulation from watching adult content and the act of masturbation may be leading to a state of heightened arousal that is counterproductive to sleep. After ejaculation, while some people may feel relaxed and ready for sleep, others might experience a surge of adrenaline or a racing mind, especially if they are engaging in stimulating activities like watching pornography. This can lead to difficulty falling asleep, even if the body feels physically tired.

Additionally, psychological factors play a significant role. If you associate masturbation with feelings of guilt or anxiety, this can create a cycle of stress that makes it harder to relax and fall asleep. The mind may be racing with thoughts about the act itself, leading to increased alertness and difficulty in transitioning to sleep. On the other hand, if you find that morning masturbation helps you feel more relaxed and ready for sleep, it could be due to a different psychological state in the morning compared to the evening.

Another factor to consider is the timing and environment. Engaging in stimulating activities close to bedtime, such as watching pornography, can disrupt your body's natural wind-down process. The blue light emitted from screens can also interfere with melatonin production, the hormone responsible for regulating sleep. If you find that you are engaging in these activities late at night, it might be beneficial to establish a more calming bedtime routine that allows your body and mind to relax before sleep.

In conclusion, while masturbation can have varying effects on sleep, it is not universally beneficial for everyone. If you find that it consistently leads to insomnia, it may be worth exploring alternative methods for relaxation before bed. Consider incorporating calming activities such as reading, meditation, or gentle stretching into your nighttime routine. If sleep issues persist, it may be helpful to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation. Remember, sleep hygiene is crucial, and creating a conducive environment for sleep can significantly improve your overall sleep quality.
