Doctor, please help me?

I have a question.
One time while I was in the restroom, I suddenly coughed forcefully and felt a sharp pain at that moment.
When I looked at the toilet, I saw blood.
I also noticed blood when I wiped the glans with toilet paper.
For the next few days, I experienced pain every time I used the restroom.
Light pressure on the midshaft and glans of my penis also caused pain.
I started to feel an increased frequency of urination.
When I slept on my side, pressure on my penis caused a sharp pain, and it felt like my urine was being squeezed out.
Sometimes when I used the restroom and wiped the glans with toilet paper, I noticed red urine.
What should I do in this situation? What is wrong with me? Please help!

It sounds like you're experiencing a concerning set of symptoms related to urological pain, which can be distressing and alarming. Based on the symptoms you've described—pain during urination, blood in the urine, and pain in the genital area—there are several potential causes that should be considered.
Firstly, the presence of blood in your urine (hematuria) and the pain you're experiencing could indicate a urinary tract infection (UTI), which is common and can cause symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and discomfort. UTIs can occur when bacteria enter the urinary tract, leading to inflammation and irritation. However, given the blood and the acute onset of pain following a cough, other conditions should also be considered.

Another possibility is a kidney stone, which can cause severe pain and hematuria. When a stone moves through the urinary tract, it can cause significant discomfort and may lead to bleeding. The pain from kidney stones often radiates to the lower abdomen and groin, and it can be accompanied by symptoms like nausea and increased urgency to urinate.

Additionally, trauma to the genital area, such as from vigorous coughing or straining, could lead to bruising or injury, which might explain the pain and bleeding. This could also lead to inflammation or irritation of the urethra, causing further discomfort.

Other potential causes include:
1. Prostatitis: Inflammation of the prostate gland can cause pain in the pelvic area, painful urination, and sometimes blood in the urine.

2. Urethritis: Inflammation of the urethra, often due to infection, can lead to similar symptoms.

3. Bladder or kidney issues: Conditions such as bladder infections, interstitial cystitis, or even tumors can cause pain and hematuria.

Given the severity and nature of your symptoms, it is crucial to seek medical attention as soon as possible. A healthcare provider will likely perform a physical examination and may order tests such as a urinalysis, urine culture, or imaging studies (like an ultrasound or CT scan) to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.
In the meantime, here are some general recommendations:
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids to help flush out your urinary system.

- Avoid Irritants: Stay away from caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods, which can irritate the bladder.

- Pain Management: Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen, may help alleviate some discomfort, but consult with a healthcare provider before taking any medication.

It's essential to address these symptoms promptly, as untreated conditions can lead to complications. Please make an appointment with a urologist or your primary care physician to discuss your symptoms in detail and receive appropriate care.
