There are bumps on the glans?

I noticed small bumps around the edge of the glans since around the first year of junior high school, but I didn't think much of it.
Now, after 3 to 4 years, I'm starting to feel a bit worried.
I previously read that strong detergents in body wash could cause allergic reactions, leading to these bumps, so I switched to using crystal soap for bathing.
It seems to have become less noticeable, but they are still present.
Last week, one of the spots suddenly became very painful, and I'm unsure what to do.

Hello: If there are small bumps on the glans, they may be benign skin lesions.
As for whether special cleansers are needed to wash the genital area, it is recommended to use only warm water.
If there is significant pain or if you have any other concerns, it is advisable to consult a urologist as soon as possible.

When it comes to the presence of granules on the glans, it is essential to understand the potential causes and appropriate solutions. The granules you are experiencing could be a result of several factors, including irritation, infections, or benign conditions.
One common cause of granules or bumps on the glans is a condition known as pearly penile papules. These are small, harmless bumps that typically appear around the corona of the glans and are completely normal anatomical variations. They are not associated with any disease or infection and do not require treatment unless they cause discomfort or anxiety.

Another possibility is that the granules are a result of irritation from soaps or hygiene products. As you mentioned, using harsh soaps or body washes can lead to allergic reactions or irritation, which may manifest as bumps or granules. Switching to a milder soap, like the crystal soap you mentioned, is a good step. It is also advisable to avoid any products with strong fragrances or chemicals that could exacerbate the irritation.

Infections, such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), can also cause changes in the appearance of the glans. Conditions like balanitis (inflammation of the glans) can lead to redness, swelling, and the formation of granules or lesions. If you have experienced any unusual discharge, pain, or other symptoms, it is crucial to consult a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

The sudden onset of pain in one of the granules is concerning and warrants immediate attention. Pain can indicate an infection or an inflammatory process that may require medical intervention. It is essential to avoid self-diagnosing and to seek a professional evaluation, especially if the pain persists or worsens.

In summary, while granules on the glans can be benign, the presence of pain and changes in the condition should not be ignored. Here are some steps you can take:
1. Consult a Healthcare Provider: Schedule an appointment with a urologist or dermatologist who specializes in genital health. They can provide a thorough examination and determine the exact cause of your symptoms.

2. Avoid Irritants: Continue using mild soaps and avoid any products that may irritate the area.
3. Monitor Symptoms: Keep track of any changes in the appearance of the granules, as well as any new symptoms such as discharge, itching, or increased pain.

4. Practice Good Hygiene: Maintain proper hygiene by gently cleaning the area with water and mild soap, and ensure that the area is dry after washing.

5. Avoid Sexual Activity: If you suspect an infection or if you are experiencing pain, it may be wise to abstain from sexual activity until you have been evaluated by a healthcare provider.

In conclusion, while granules on the glans can often be harmless, the presence of pain and changes in the condition should prompt a visit to a healthcare professional. Early evaluation and treatment can help address any underlying issues and provide peace of mind.
