Suspected Pregnancy
Hello doctor, I previously took medication to induce menstruation from August 4 to August 6 due to a significant delay in my period.
I also had blood tests and a urine pregnancy test, both of which were negative.
My period started on August 9 and lasted until around August 14 or 15.
Initially, the flow was heavy, but it later decreased to just a small amount of brown discharge.
On August 17, I had sexual intercourse without a condom, but the male partner did not fully penetrate and did not ejaculate (though I'm unsure if there was pre-ejaculate).
I would like to know if there is any concern about pregnancy in this situation.
Could taking the medication to induce menstruation affect the timing or volume of my period this month? How can I identify pre-ejaculate fluid? What is the sperm content like in pre-ejaculate fluid? Additionally, I have noticed an increase in discharge that is somewhat thick and yellow (but not green) and it is itchy.
What could be the cause of this? Thank you for clarifying these concerns for me.

Hello, the chances of pregnancy are low, but it is best to take preventive measures beforehand.
Do not rely on the safe period.
The discharge is somewhat excessive and has a thick yellow appearance, which may indicate inflammation.
It is advisable to see a gynecologist.
Wishing you good health.

During pregnancy, women often experience a variety of physical and emotional symptoms, which can be influenced by hormonal changes. Your concerns about menstrual irregularities, potential pregnancy, and associated symptoms are valid and warrant a thorough understanding.
Firstly, regarding your experience with menstrual irregularities and the use of menstrual induction medication, it is important to note that such medications can indeed affect your menstrual cycle. They may cause changes in the timing and flow of your period, leading to lighter or irregular bleeding. The hormonal fluctuations induced by these medications can also result in changes to your cervical mucus, which may explain the increased discharge you are experiencing.
As for the sexual encounter you described, if there was no ejaculation and only partial penetration, the risk of pregnancy is significantly reduced, but not entirely eliminated. Pre-ejaculate fluid (pre-cum) can contain sperm, although the concentration is generally lower than in ejaculate. If you are concerned about the possibility of pregnancy, consider taking a home pregnancy test a few days after your expected period or consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation.
The presence of thick, yellowish discharge accompanied by itching could indicate a vaginal infection, such as a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis. These conditions are common and can occur due to hormonal changes during your menstrual cycle or after using certain medications. It is advisable to consult a healthcare provider for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
In terms of recognizing pre-ejaculate fluid, it is typically a clear, slippery fluid that may be released during arousal. While it can contain sperm, the quantity and viability of sperm in pre-ejaculate are generally lower than in ejaculate. However, it is still important to consider this when assessing the risk of pregnancy.
If you are experiencing significant changes in your menstrual cycle, unusual discharge, or any other concerning symptoms, it is crucial to seek medical advice. A healthcare provider can perform necessary tests, such as a pelvic exam or laboratory tests, to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and provide appropriate treatment options.
In summary, hormonal changes can significantly impact your menstrual cycle and overall reproductive health. If you have concerns about pregnancy or experience unusual symptoms, it is always best to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation. Remember, open communication with your healthcare provider is key to addressing any health concerns you may have during this time.
