Can I get pregnant?
Hello: My girlfriend's last period started on July 22, with a cycle of about 30 days.
The latest she would expect her period is August 13, and we had sexual intercourse (with a condom) on that date.
From August 22 to 29, she felt like her period was about to come, but it didn't.
We had sexual intercourse again on August 27 (during which the condom slipped off inside her, but I removed it and then put on a new one).
On August 31, she took a pregnancy test (result: one line), and on September 3, she took two more tests (both results: one line).
In August, my girlfriend changed to a new environment and has been under a bit of stress.
Is there a possibility of pregnancy? Should she test again?

Hello, a pregnancy test is usually accurate after 12 days of conception.
The chance of pregnancy is low, so it's best to use contraception beforehand.
If your period is more than a week late, it is advisable to consult a gynecologist.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
Stress can indeed have a significant impact on the menstrual cycle, potentially causing delays in menstruation. In your situation, where your girlfriend's last menstrual period was on July 22 and her cycle is typically around 30 days, a delay beyond the expected date could be attributed to various factors, including stress, lifestyle changes, and even hormonal fluctuations.
When it comes to stress, it is well-documented that psychological and emotional stress can disrupt the hypothalamus, which is responsible for regulating the hormones that control the menstrual cycle. This disruption can lead to irregularities, including delayed periods. In your girlfriend's case, the stress from changing environments and possibly other life factors could contribute to her missed period.
Regarding the sexual activity you described, while using condoms significantly reduces the risk of pregnancy, no contraceptive method is 100% effective. The incident where the condom slipped off could pose a risk, albeit small, for pregnancy. The negative pregnancy tests on August 31 and September 3, which both showed one line, indicate that she is likely not pregnant, as a positive test would typically show two lines. However, if there is still concern about the possibility of pregnancy, it is advisable to conduct another test, especially if her period does not arrive soon.
In addition to stress, other factors could also contribute to a missed period, such as changes in weight, exercise habits, or underlying health conditions. If your girlfriend continues to experience a delayed period or has other symptoms such as severe cramping, unusual discharge, or significant changes in mood or health, it would be prudent for her to consult a healthcare provider. They can perform a more thorough evaluation, which may include blood tests or an ultrasound, to rule out any underlying issues.
In summary, while stress can indeed delay menstruation, the combination of factors in your girlfriend's situation suggests that she may not be pregnant, especially given the negative pregnancy tests. However, if her period does not arrive soon or if she has any concerns, it is always best to seek medical advice for peace of mind and to ensure her overall health.
