Penile issues
Hello, Dr.
Chen.
I have a question.
There is a dark line between the base of my penis and my testicles (I’m not sure what that is).
The main issue is that there is a lump in that area that hurts when I press on it.
When I apply pressure, yellow pus comes out.
The location is just above the base of the penis.
After I clean it, it doesn’t hurt, but by the evening, it becomes hard again, and when I press on it, yellow pus comes out.
Which specialist should I see, Dr.
Chen?

It may be folliculitis.
You can consult either a urologist or a dermatologist.

More Info
It sounds like you are experiencing some concerning symptoms related to your genital area, specifically pain and the presence of a discharge. Based on your description, it is crucial to seek medical attention from a urologist, as they specialize in conditions affecting the urinary tract and male reproductive organs.
The "black line" you mentioned could be the spermatic cord, which contains blood vessels, nerves, and the vas deferens. The lump you feel between the base of the penis and the testicles, especially if it is painful and produces a yellow discharge, may indicate an infection or inflammation in the area. This could be related to conditions such as epididymitis (inflammation of the epididymis), orchitis (inflammation of the testicles), or even a possible abscess.
The presence of pus-like discharge suggests that there may be an infection, which could be bacterial in nature. It is essential to avoid self-diagnosing or treating this condition without professional guidance. The fact that the area becomes hard and painful at night could indicate that the infection is worsening or that there is an accumulation of pus that needs to be drained.
When you visit a urologist, they will likely perform a physical examination and may order additional tests, such as an ultrasound, to assess the condition of your testicles and surrounding structures. They may also take a urine sample or swab from the affected area to identify any bacterial infection and determine the appropriate antibiotic treatment.
In the meantime, it is advisable to avoid any activities that may exacerbate the pain or irritation, such as vigorous exercise or sexual activity. Keeping the area clean and dry is also important to prevent further irritation or infection.
In summary, your symptoms warrant a visit to a urologist for a thorough evaluation and appropriate treatment. Early intervention can help prevent complications and ensure a swift recovery. Do not hesitate to seek medical help, as conditions affecting the genital area can lead to more serious health issues if left untreated.
