Loose stools after drinking water?


Recently, I have been experiencing diarrhea that is different from usual.
The stools are very watery, and it feels like a flood when I go to the bathroom, almost like urinating from my anus.
I initially thought the diarrhea was a symptom of a cold I had recently, and since I only felt a bit thirsty after the diarrhea without any other symptoms, I didn't investigate further.
However, one day after recovering from the cold, I felt very thirsty after exercising and drank a lot of water in one go.
Shortly after, I experienced diarrhea again.
After that, I felt extremely thirsty again and drank more water, leading to a cycle of: thirst - drinking water - diarrhea - thirst...
until I switched to sipping small amounts of water, which finally stopped the cycle.
Therefore, I suspect that the large amount of water I drank at once was not absorbed by my stomach and small intestine and was instead expelled directly from my colon.
My drinking habits have been similar in the past without any issues, so I wonder if there is a problem with my gastrointestinal tract.
