Menstrual blood cannot be expelled with urine and appears brown in color?
I apologize for the inconvenience.
Last month, my menstrual cycle was normal.
This month, the menstrual flow is lighter than last month, and the menstrual blood does not flow out when I urinate, but there is blood on the sanitary pad.
On the first day, the blood was red, but by the third day, it turned brown.
After my last period, I noticed a small, movable, and painful lump in my left groin area.
I went to a gynecologist for an ultrasound, and there were no issues with my uterus or ovaries.
The lump has not decreased in size.
Could this be a symptom of pelvic inflammatory disease? If not, why is my menstrual blood not being expelled with urine, and why is it brown? (This is the first time this has happened.)

Hello, your situation may be due to a lighter menstrual flow this time, which could prevent the discharge from being expelled with urine.
It doesn't sound like a serious issue, so there's no need to be overly anxious.
You can wait until next month's period to see how it goes.
As for the lump you felt in your left groin that is movable and painful, it could be caused by a local infection leading to lymphadenopathy and inflammation.
It's best to have a doctor examine it and perform some tests for a proper diagnosis.
It doesn't sound like pelvic inflammatory disease, as that condition typically presents with lower abdominal pain and less frequently involves lymphadenopathy in the groin area.

Irregular menstrual flow, particularly the presence of brown discharge, can be concerning for many women. It is important to understand that menstrual blood can vary in color and consistency throughout the cycle, and several factors can influence these changes.
Firstly, the brown color of menstrual blood is typically associated with older blood that has taken longer to exit the uterus. This can happen towards the end of a menstrual period when the flow is lighter. The presence of brown discharge on the third day of your period is not uncommon and can be a normal variation. However, if this is a new occurrence for you, it may warrant further investigation.
Regarding your urinary concerns, it is essential to note that menstrual blood should not mix with urine. The menstrual flow exits through the cervix and vagina, while urine is expelled from the bladder. If you are experiencing a sensation of blood not flowing out with urine, it could be due to the timing of your menstrual flow and urination. It is possible that you are urinating at times when your menstrual flow is lighter, leading to the perception that blood is not accompanying urine.
The small, movable, and painful lump you mentioned in your left groin area could be a lymph node or another benign structure, but it is essential to follow up with your healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation. While pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) can cause pain and irregularities in menstrual cycles, it is typically accompanied by other symptoms such as fever, unusual discharge, and pelvic pain. Since your ultrasound showed no issues with your uterus or ovaries, PID may be less likely, but it is still important to consider other potential causes.
Other factors that can contribute to irregular menstrual cycles and changes in discharge include hormonal imbalances, stress, changes in weight, and certain medical conditions. Conditions such as endometriosis or fibroids can also lead to changes in menstrual flow and pelvic discomfort.
If you continue to experience irregularities in your menstrual cycle, persistent pain, or any new symptoms, it is crucial to consult with your healthcare provider. They may recommend further testing or imaging to rule out any underlying conditions. Keeping a record of your menstrual cycle, including flow changes, pain levels, and any other symptoms, can be helpful for your healthcare provider in diagnosing any potential issues.
In summary, while brown discharge and changes in menstrual flow can be normal, it is essential to monitor your symptoms and consult with a healthcare provider if you have concerns. Regular gynecological check-ups are vital for maintaining reproductive health and addressing any issues that may arise.
