Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) occlusion & chewing gum

Kuan-Yu,
I have not been diagnosed with any occlusal temporomandibular joint issues.
My jaw opens and closes smoothly, and I have never experienced pain.
However, when I open my mouth wide, such as when making the "ah" sound, or even without vocalizing, I often hear a very faint sound on the left side that resembles a "click" or "pop." Currently, this does not interfere with my daily life.
I am working on the habit of brushing my teeth after every meal.
Since I am still in training and cannot brush after every meal yet, during this transitional phase, if I do not have time to brush my teeth, I chew sugar-free gum until I can brush after the next meal.

Could you please advise me on the advantages and disadvantages of chewing sugar-free gum in relation to my mentioned temporomandibular joint condition? Thank you, Dr.
