Is this vaginal discharge normal?
My menstrual cycle is consistently 28 to 29 days.
Last month, my period started on February 10 and ended on the 18th.
I had protected intercourse on March 3, and there was no ejaculation.
My menstrual period started on March 11 and ended on the 19th.
Every month during ovulation, my cervical mucus is thick and egg white-like, and when it dries, it leaves a white residue in my underwear.
However, this month, after my period ended, the discharge has been watery.
I feel like there is fluid flowing out, but it is colorless, odorless, and does not cause any itching.
Is this normal discharge?

More Info
After menstruation, it is common for women to experience changes in vaginal discharge, and what you are describing seems to fall within the range of normal physiological variations. The discharge you are experiencing—clear, watery, and without odor or irritation—can be attributed to several factors, including hormonal fluctuations, hydration levels, and the natural cycle of the menstrual cycle.
During the menstrual cycle, estrogen levels fluctuate significantly. After menstruation, as estrogen levels rise, the cervical mucus can become more abundant and may take on a clear, watery consistency. This is particularly common around ovulation, which typically occurs about 14 days before your next period. The clear, stretchy discharge you described as resembling egg whites is typical during this ovulatory phase, as it helps facilitate sperm movement through the cervix.
In your case, the clear discharge after your period, which you noted feels like water and is without any accompanying symptoms such as itching, burning, or an unusual odor, is generally considered normal. It is important to note that the absence of these symptoms is a good sign that there is no infection or other underlying issue.
However, if you notice any changes in the discharge, such as a strong odor, a change in color (like yellow or green), or if it becomes accompanied by itching or irritation, it would be wise to consult a healthcare provider. These could be signs of an infection, such as bacterial vaginosis or a yeast infection, which would require medical attention.
Additionally, factors such as stress, diet, and overall health can influence the characteristics of vaginal discharge. For instance, increased stress levels can lead to hormonal imbalances, which might alter the consistency and amount of discharge. Similarly, changes in diet or hydration can also affect the nature of your discharge.
In summary, the clear, watery discharge you are experiencing after your menstrual period appears to be normal, especially in the absence of any other concerning symptoms. However, if you have any doubts or if your symptoms change, it is always best to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and reassurance. Regular gynecological check-ups can also help monitor your reproductive health and address any concerns you may have.
