Can I get pregnant?

Around April 9 or 10, which coincided with my ovulation day, my boyfriend wanted to engage in sexual intercourse, but I refused due to being a minor.
However, before I refused, it seemed that his hand had touched his own genitals and then touched my vagina.
I'm not sure if his genitals made contact with mine.
Last night, I felt very tired, and this morning when I went to the bathroom, I noticed a very light pink discharge.
In the afternoon, I found that my underwear had a brownish color, resembling dried blood.
I would like to know what possible reasons there could be for this.
As far as I remember, he is not circumcised.
If there was any contact with his secretions, is there a possibility of pregnancy? But since there was no penetration, could that still lead to pregnancy?

Niming, 10~19 year old female. Ask Date: 2017/04/11

Answer: "My boyfriend wanted to have sexual intercourse, and it seems that his hand, which had touched his own genitals, also touched my vagina, possibly transferring his secretions, but there was no penetration." If there was no penetration, pregnancy is unlikely.

The question of whether one can get pregnant without intercourse is a nuanced topic that involves understanding the mechanics of reproduction, the role of sperm, and the various ways in which pregnancy can occur. In your case, the situation involves potential exposure to pre-ejaculate fluid, which can contain sperm, and the possibility of that fluid coming into contact with the vaginal area.

To begin with, pregnancy typically occurs when sperm fertilizes an egg, which usually happens through vaginal intercourse. However, it is important to note that sperm can be present in pre-ejaculate fluid, which is released before ejaculation. If this fluid comes into contact with the vaginal area, there is a small chance that sperm could travel into the vagina and potentially fertilize an egg, especially if this contact occurs around the time of ovulation, which is when an egg is released from the ovary and is available for fertilization.

In your case, since you mentioned that your boyfriend's hand may have touched his own genitals and then your vaginal area, there is a possibility, albeit low, that sperm could have been transferred. The likelihood of pregnancy from such a scenario is significantly lower than from full intercourse, but it is not impossible. Factors such as the viability of the sperm, the timing of your ovulation, and the presence of any barriers (like clothing) all play a role in determining the risk of pregnancy.

Regarding the symptoms you described—feeling fatigued and noticing a light brown discharge—these could be attributed to several factors. Light spotting can occur for various reasons, including hormonal changes, ovulation, or even implantation bleeding if fertilization has occurred. However, since you mentioned that you are in the ovulation phase, it is possible that the spotting is related to ovulation itself, which can sometimes cause light bleeding or spotting due to the hormonal fluctuations that occur during this time.

If you are concerned about the possibility of pregnancy, it is advisable to take a home pregnancy test if your period is late or if you continue to experience unusual symptoms. Additionally, if you are feeling anxious about the situation, consider consulting with a healthcare provider who can offer personalized advice and support.

In summary, while it is possible to become pregnant without intercourse, the likelihood is relatively low in your described scenario. However, if there is any uncertainty or concern regarding potential pregnancy or your health, seeking medical advice is always a prudent step. Remember, understanding your body and reproductive health is crucial, and there are many resources available to help you navigate these questions safely and effectively.
