Could this lead to pregnancy?

Yesterday, on May 6th, I had intimate contact with my girlfriend.
During arousal, a clear fluid was secreted and accidentally came into contact with her external genitalia.
Later, I put on a condom but initially put it on inside out.
I re-applied it and wiped the side that had contacted my penis with tissue because I was concerned about the secretions.
Ultimately, there was no penetration because my girlfriend experienced pain, and she is around her ovulation period, which is approximately early May.
I would like to ask the doctor how high the chances of pregnancy are in this situation.

The question of whether one can get pregnant from close contact, particularly in the context described, is a nuanced one that requires understanding the mechanics of conception and the factors involved in sexual activity.

To begin with, pregnancy occurs when sperm fertilizes an egg. This typically happens through vaginal intercourse, where sperm is deposited in the vagina and can swim through the cervix into the uterus to meet an egg. However, the scenario you've described involves close contact and the presence of pre-ejaculatory fluid, which can complicate the assessment of pregnancy risk.

Pre-ejaculatory fluid, often referred to as "pre-cum," is a clear fluid that is released from the penis before ejaculation. This fluid can contain sperm, although typically in lower quantities than ejaculate. The risk of pregnancy from pre-ejaculatory fluid is a topic of debate among medical professionals. While some studies suggest that pre-ejaculatory fluid can contain viable sperm, the concentration is generally much lower than in ejaculate. However, if there is a significant amount of pre-ejaculatory fluid that comes into contact with the vaginal area, there is still a potential risk for pregnancy, especially if the female partner is in her fertile window, which you indicated is around early May.

In your case, you mentioned that there was close contact and that some of the pre-ejaculatory fluid may have touched your girlfriend's external genitalia. While the risk of pregnancy from this type of contact is lower than from direct vaginal intercourse, it is not zero. The fact that you later used a condom, albeit with some initial concerns about contamination, adds another layer of complexity. If the condom was applied correctly after ensuring that any potential sperm was wiped away, the risk of pregnancy decreases significantly.

It's also important to note that the timing of the menstrual cycle plays a crucial role in the likelihood of conception. If your girlfriend was indeed in her ovulation period, the chances of pregnancy could be higher, as this is when the egg is available for fertilization. However, without direct ejaculation inside the vagina, the chances remain lower compared to full intercourse.

In summary, while the risk of pregnancy from the scenario you described is not negligible, it is relatively low, especially since you did not have penetrative intercourse. If your girlfriend is concerned about the possibility of pregnancy, it would be advisable for her to take a home pregnancy test if her period is late or to consult with a healthcare provider for further guidance.
For future reference, if you wish to avoid unintended pregnancies, consider using reliable contraceptive methods consistently and correctly. Additionally, open communication with your partner about sexual health and contraception can help mitigate risks and enhance mutual understanding.
