Erection hardness and duration?
Recently, I've noticed that my erection hardness is not as strong as it used to be.
It only becomes very hard when I'm close to ejaculation during masturbation.
What could be causing this? I used to be able to get an erection easily, but recently it's not the same.
Could this mean I have cardiovascular disease that is causing this issue?

At your age, cardiovascular diseases are relatively uncommon, but there are many other factors to consider.
It would be advisable to visit an outpatient clinic for a check-up.

Erection hardness and duration can be influenced by a variety of factors, including physical health, psychological state, and lifestyle choices. It’s important to understand that changes in erectile function are common and can occur for many reasons.
Firstly, the quality of an erection is largely dependent on blood flow to the penis, which is facilitated by the cardiovascular system. If you are experiencing difficulties achieving the same level of hardness as before, it could be indicative of underlying cardiovascular issues. Conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), or other heart-related problems can impede blood flow and lead to erectile dysfunction (ED).
However, it’s not solely about physical health. Psychological factors play a significant role in sexual performance. Stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues can all contribute to erectile difficulties. If you find that you are only achieving full hardness during masturbation and not during sexual activity, it may suggest that performance anxiety or psychological factors are at play. The mind and body are intricately connected, and psychological stress can manifest physically.
Lifestyle choices can also impact erectile function. Factors such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, lack of physical activity, and poor diet can contribute to ED. Smoking, in particular, is known to damage blood vessels and restrict blood flow, which can lead to difficulties in achieving or maintaining an erection.
If you are concerned about the possibility of cardiovascular disease, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional. They can perform a thorough evaluation, which may include blood tests, a physical examination, and possibly imaging studies to assess your cardiovascular health.
In addition to seeking medical advice, consider adopting a healthier lifestyle. Regular exercise, a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins, and maintaining a healthy weight can improve overall health and potentially enhance erectile function. Reducing stress through mindfulness practices, therapy, or relaxation techniques can also be beneficial.
If you are experiencing persistent erectile difficulties, it’s essential to address these concerns with a healthcare provider. They can help determine the underlying causes and recommend appropriate treatments, which may include lifestyle changes, counseling, or medications.
In summary, changes in erection hardness and duration can stem from a combination of physical, psychological, and lifestyle factors. While cardiovascular health is a crucial aspect to consider, it’s equally important to evaluate psychological well-being and lifestyle choices. Seeking professional guidance can help you navigate these changes and improve your sexual health.
