X-ray examination at the beginning of the month?
Hello doctor, I had a physical examination for my kitchen worker job on August 4th, and at that time, I was unaware that I might be pregnant.
A week later, I started experiencing pregnancy symptoms and thought my period was coming, but another week has passed and my period still hasn't arrived.
I decided to take a pregnancy test, and it showed two lines.
Now I'm worried about whether I might lose this little life, and I sincerely hope that the pregnancy is healthy.
I will be going to Puji Hospital on Monday to discuss my situation with the doctor.

Dear Concerned Parent,
First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! It’s completely normal to have concerns during the early stages of pregnancy, especially when you are unsure about the circumstances leading up to it. Let’s address your worries regarding the health of your baby and the steps you can take to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
From your description, it seems you had a health check-up on August 4th, and shortly after, you began experiencing pregnancy symptoms. The fact that you were unaware of your pregnancy during the check-up is not uncommon, as many women do not realize they are pregnant until a missed period prompts them to take a test. The good news is that many women have healthy pregnancies even if they were unaware they were pregnant during certain activities or exposures.
Regarding your concern about the potential impact of your previous activities on your pregnancy, it’s important to remember that the early weeks of pregnancy are crucial for fetal development, but they are also a time when many women may not yet know they are pregnant. If you were exposed to any harmful substances or engaged in activities that could pose a risk, it’s understandable to worry. However, the body is resilient, and many factors contribute to a healthy pregnancy.
To address your concerns about the health of your baby, it is advisable to schedule a visit with your healthcare provider as soon as possible. During this visit, your doctor can perform an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy and check for a heartbeat, which typically becomes detectable around 6-7 weeks of gestation. This can provide reassurance about the viability of your pregnancy.
In the meantime, here are some general recommendations for early pregnancy care:
1. Prenatal Vitamins: Start taking prenatal vitamins if you haven’t already. These usually contain folic acid, which is crucial for fetal development and can help prevent neural tube defects.
2. Healthy Diet: Focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Staying hydrated is also important.
3. Avoid Harmful Substances: If you have been exposed to secondhand smoke or other harmful substances, try to minimize exposure moving forward. Smoking can increase the risk of complications during pregnancy.
4. Rest and Manage Stress: Ensure you are getting enough rest and managing stress levels. Stress can affect your overall health and well-being during pregnancy.
5. Regular Check-Ups: Attend all scheduled prenatal appointments. Regular monitoring is essential for assessing the health of both you and your baby.
6. Watch for Symptoms: Be aware of any unusual symptoms, such as heavy bleeding, severe cramping, or persistent pain, and contact your healthcare provider if you experience any of these.
7. Limit Caffeine and Avoid Alcohol: It’s advisable to limit caffeine intake and avoid alcohol during pregnancy.
As you prepare for your upcoming appointment, it may be helpful to write down any questions or concerns you have. This will ensure you cover everything during your visit. Remember, it’s completely normal to feel anxious during this time, but staying informed and proactive about your health can help ease your worries.
In conclusion, while it’s natural to have concerns about your pregnancy, taking the right steps and seeking medical advice can help ensure a healthy outcome. Trust in your body’s ability to nurture and protect your developing baby, and don’t hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider for support and guidance.
Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy!
Best regards.
