Can I get pregnant?

Hello Doctor: On August 12, I had sexual intercourse with my boyfriend for the first time.
We used a condom throughout, and there was no ejaculation, but it was very painful since it was my first time, and he only penetrated for about a minute before withdrawing.
On August 13, he rubbed against me without a condom, and when he tried to penetrate, I stopped him.
The rest involved his genitals rubbing against my underwear.
My menstrual cycle is quite irregular, approximately 35-45 days.
Recently, I have been taking traditional Chinese medicine to regulate my menstrual cycle, and my last period was around August 4.
Yesterday, on September 6, I took a pregnancy test (25 days after the sexual encounter).
At first glance, the test showed almost one line, but the next day, I noticed a very faint second line.
I'm not sure if the faint line is due to leaving the test for too long.
Recently, I haven't experienced any significant changes in my body or any discharge.
Is there still a possibility of pregnancy in this situation?

More Info

When it comes to the possibility of pregnancy after engaging in sexual activity, it's important to consider the specifics of the situation, including the type of sexual activity, the use of protection, and the timing in relation to your menstrual cycle.

From your description, it seems that you had two encounters with your boyfriend: one where you used a condom for penetrative sex, and another where there was external rubbing without penetration. Since you mentioned that the condom was used correctly and there was no ejaculation during that encounter, the risk of pregnancy from that specific act is very low. Condoms are generally effective at preventing both pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) when used properly.

The second encounter involved external rubbing with your boyfriend's genitals against your underwear, which also poses a very low risk of pregnancy. Sperm needs to be deposited in the vaginal canal for pregnancy to occur, and since there was no direct contact with bodily fluids in that scenario, the likelihood of pregnancy remains minimal.

Regarding your menstrual cycle, you mentioned that it is irregular, ranging from 35 to 45 days. This irregularity can make it more challenging to predict ovulation, which is the time when you are most fertile. If your last menstrual period started on August 4, and you had sexual activity on August 12 and 13, you would have been in the early part of your cycle. Depending on your cycle length, ovulation could occur anywhere from around day 14 to day 21 of your cycle, but this can vary significantly with irregular cycles.

You conducted a pregnancy test on September 6, which is 25 days after the first sexual encounter. The fact that you saw a faint second line on the pregnancy test could indicate a very early pregnancy, but it is also possible that the test result was affected by the timing or the sensitivity of the test. Pregnancy tests are most reliable when taken after a missed period, so if your cycle is irregular, it might be beneficial to wait a few more days and retest or consult with a healthcare provider for a blood test, which can provide more accurate results.

In summary, based on the information provided, the risk of pregnancy from the described sexual activities appears to be low. However, if you are experiencing anxiety about the possibility of being pregnant, it is advisable to take another pregnancy test a few days later or consult with a healthcare professional for further evaluation and guidance. They can provide you with more personalized advice based on your health history and current situation. Remember, if you have any concerns about STIs or your reproductive health, seeking medical advice is always a good step.
