Can I get pregnant?

On October 9, I had a date with my boyfriend and touched his penis without direct contact, but I'm still worried about pregnancy.
My period came on October 29, but I feel something unusual in my abdomen, and there is a line appearing from my navel extending towards my abdomen and even above the navel.
What could be the reason for this? Occasionally, my nipples have some flaking and discharge.

When it comes to concerns about pregnancy, it's important to understand the various symptoms and signs that can indicate whether or not you might be pregnant. Based on your description, it seems you have some anxiety regarding potential pregnancy despite having your period on October 29. Let's break down your concerns and symptoms.

First, it's essential to note that the presence of a menstrual period is typically a strong indicator that you are not pregnant. However, some women experience irregularities in their menstrual cycles, which can lead to confusion. If your period was normal in flow and duration, it is unlikely that you are pregnant. However, if you are experiencing unusual symptoms, it is worth exploring further.

You mentioned feeling something "strange" in your abdomen and observing a line extending from your navel. This could be a condition known as the linea nigra, which is a dark line that can appear on the abdomen during pregnancy due to hormonal changes. However, this line typically appears in pregnant women and is not a definitive sign of pregnancy if you have had your period. The line can also be a normal anatomical feature that some people have regardless of pregnancy status.

The occasional discharge from your nipples and the presence of skin flakes could be related to hormonal fluctuations, which can occur for various reasons, including stress, changes in body weight, or other health conditions. If the discharge is clear or milky and not accompanied by pain or other concerning symptoms, it may not be a cause for alarm. However, if you notice any changes in color, consistency, or if it becomes painful, it would be wise to consult a healthcare provider.

Your feelings of anxiety about the possibility of being pregnant, despite having your period, are understandable. Many women experience heightened anxiety regarding pregnancy, especially if they have had any form of sexual activity. It's crucial to remember that anxiety can often amplify physical sensations, making you more aware of changes in your body that you might otherwise overlook.

If you continue to feel uneasy about your symptoms or if they persist, it would be beneficial to schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider. They can perform a thorough evaluation, including a physical examination and possibly a pregnancy test, to provide you with peace of mind. Additionally, discussing your concerns with a doctor can help address any underlying anxiety or stress you may be experiencing.

In summary, while your menstrual period is a strong indicator that you are not pregnant, your symptoms warrant further investigation. Hormonal changes can cause various physical sensations and symptoms that can be mistaken for pregnancy signs. Consulting with a healthcare professional can provide clarity and help alleviate your concerns. Remember, it's always better to seek professional advice when in doubt about your health.
