Masturbation does not always result in ejaculation?
I'm 17 years old, but I have never experienced ejaculation from masturbation.
I do have nocturnal emissions, so does that mean my sexual function is normal? I have read about similar situations, but unlike others, I originally had phimosis and have recently managed to retract the foreskin completely, allowing the glans to be exposed without pain during an erection.
Does this mean I have healed? However, when I masturbate, I only feel dryness, and moving up and down doesn't provide much pleasure.
Could this be because my glans is still too sensitive? Shouldn't that lead to quicker ejaculation? I'm worried about how this might affect my future sexual life, or is it due to the psychological pressure from not having ejaculated for a long time? How can I overcome this? I would appreciate your guidance, doctor.

Understanding ejaculation issues, especially in young men, can be complex and multifaceted. Your concerns are valid, and it's important to address them with a comprehensive understanding of both physiological and psychological factors.
Firstly, it's worth noting that experiencing ejaculation is a normal part of male sexual development. The fact that you have experienced nocturnal emissions (wet dreams) indicates that your body is capable of ejaculation, even if you haven't yet experienced it through masturbation. This suggests that your reproductive system is functioning properly.
Regarding your previous condition of phimosis (a condition where the foreskin cannot be fully retracted over the glans), it’s great to hear that you have made progress in managing it. Proper hygiene and the ability to retract the foreskin can significantly improve comfort during sexual activities. If you are now able to fully retract the foreskin without pain, this is a positive sign of recovery.
The sensation of dryness during masturbation could be attributed to several factors. If you are not using any lubricant, this could lead to discomfort and a lack of pleasurable sensations. It’s important to use a lubricant to enhance the experience and reduce friction, which can make the process more enjoyable. Additionally, sensitivity in the glans can vary from person to person. If you find that your glans is overly sensitive, it may take some time to adjust to the sensations during masturbation.
The concern about not achieving ejaculation during masturbation could stem from psychological factors. Anxiety about performance, fear of not being able to ejaculate, or even the pressure of wanting to experience it can create a cycle of stress that inhibits your ability to relax and enjoy the experience. This is quite common among young men, especially those who are new to sexual experiences.
To address these psychological barriers, consider the following strategies:
1. Relaxation Techniques: Practice deep breathing or mindfulness exercises before engaging in masturbation. This can help reduce anxiety and create a more relaxed state of mind.
2. Take Your Time: Allow yourself to explore your body without the pressure of needing to achieve ejaculation. Focus on the sensations and what feels good, rather than the end goal.
3. Educate Yourself: Understanding your body and sexual response can alleviate fears. Reading reputable sources about sexual health can provide reassurance and knowledge.
4. Experiment with Techniques: Try different techniques or positions during masturbation. This can help you discover what feels best for you and may lead to a more pleasurable experience.
5. Seek Professional Guidance: If anxiety persists, consider speaking with a healthcare professional or a therapist who specializes in sexual health. They can provide tailored advice and support.
In summary, your concerns about ejaculation and sexual function are common among young men, and many factors can influence these experiences. By focusing on relaxation, education, and self-exploration, you can work towards overcoming these challenges. Remember, sexual health is a journey, and it’s perfectly normal to have questions and uncertainties along the way.
