Yellow discharge during bowel movements?
I have not engaged in sexual intercourse and usually do not have much discharge.
However, in the past two months, when I strain during bowel movements, I notice a light yellow, slightly sticky discharge.
It has a faint sour smell when I bring it close to my nose, and when it falls into the toilet water, it turns into a white, powdery substance that disperses.
Recently, if there is discharge when I urinate, the urine appears cloudy, but this does not happen every time.
I have seen a doctor and taken antibiotics, but there has been no improvement.
The doctor also performed a pelvic examination and said everything looks fine.
Could this be related to the stress of preparing for exams?

More Info
Yellow discharge during bowel movements can be concerning, especially when accompanied by other symptoms. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing a few notable issues: the presence of a yellow, slightly sticky discharge during bowel movements, a faint sour smell, and occasional cloudy urine with discharge. While I cannot provide a definitive diagnosis without a physical examination, I can offer some insights into potential causes and considerations.
Firstly, the yellow discharge you are noticing could be related to several factors. One possibility is that it may be mucus, which is a normal secretion produced by the intestines. Mucus helps to lubricate the bowel and facilitate the passage of stool. However, if the mucus is yellow and accompanied by a change in consistency or odor, it may indicate an underlying issue. Conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), infections, or inflammation of the intestines could lead to increased mucus production.
Another potential cause could be related to dietary factors. Certain foods, especially those high in fat or artificial colors, can affect the color and consistency of your stool and any accompanying discharge. If you have recently changed your diet or are consuming more processed foods, this could contribute to the symptoms you are experiencing.
The fact that you mentioned experiencing stress due to exam preparations is also significant. Stress can have a profound impact on gastrointestinal function, potentially leading to symptoms such as increased mucus production, changes in bowel habits, and abdominal discomfort. Stress-induced gastrointestinal issues are common and can manifest in various ways, including changes in stool consistency and the presence of mucus.
Regarding the cloudy urine, this could be due to several factors, including dehydration, dietary changes, or the presence of mucus or other substances. If you are experiencing this intermittently, it may not be a cause for immediate concern, but it is essential to monitor any changes in your urinary habits or the presence of additional symptoms such as pain or burning during urination.
Since you have already consulted a physician and received antibiotics without improvement, it may be worthwhile to seek a second opinion or further evaluation. Sometimes, additional tests such as stool analysis, imaging studies, or even a referral to a gastroenterologist may be necessary to identify the underlying cause of your symptoms.
In terms of self-care, consider implementing stress-reduction techniques such as mindfulness, yoga, or regular exercise, which can help alleviate some gastrointestinal symptoms. Additionally, maintaining a balanced diet rich in fiber, staying hydrated, and avoiding known irritants (such as caffeine, spicy foods, and alcohol) may help improve your overall digestive health.
In conclusion, while yellow discharge during bowel movements can be concerning, it is essential to consider the broader context of your symptoms, including stress and dietary factors. If your symptoms persist or worsen, further medical evaluation is warranted to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment. Always prioritize open communication with your healthcare provider regarding any changes in your health, and do not hesitate to seek additional opinions if needed.
