Can I get pregnant?

Hello doctor, my girlfriend and I had intercourse on February 11 and February 20, both times using condoms, which did not break during the water test.
February 11 was her ovulation period.
After we finished on February 11, I removed the condom and lightly wiped my penis with tissue.
After a while, I touched my penis with my hand, thinking it should be dry since I had wiped it with tissue, and then I inserted my hand into my girlfriend's vagina.
Is there a possibility of pregnancy from this?

When it comes to the question of whether you can get pregnant from indirect contact after condom use, it’s important to understand the mechanics of conception and the role of sperm in this process. In your scenario, you mentioned that you and your girlfriend engaged in sexual intercourse using a condom, and after removing the condom, you wiped your penis with a tissue before touching her vagina with your hand.
To address your concern, the likelihood of pregnancy occurring from this situation is very low. Condoms are designed to be highly effective barriers against sperm, and if the condom did not break or leak during intercourse, the chances of sperm being present on your penis after removing the condom are minimal. Additionally, the act of wiping your penis with a tissue would further reduce any residual sperm that might have been present.

Sperm cells are quite delicate and do not survive long outside of the male reproductive tract. They require a specific environment to remain viable, which is typically found in seminal fluid. Once exposed to air and dried out on a surface like skin or tissue, sperm quickly lose their motility and ability to fertilize an egg. Therefore, even if there were some sperm on your penis after wiping it, the chances of those sperm being capable of fertilizing an egg are extremely low.

Moreover, the timing of your girlfriend's ovulation is also a crucial factor. You mentioned that the first encounter was during her ovulation period, which is when she is most fertile. However, since you used a condom and there was no direct contact with sperm, the risk of pregnancy from the subsequent indirect contact is negligible.

In summary, while it is theoretically possible for pregnancy to occur from indirect contact if viable sperm were present, the specific circumstances you described—using a condom correctly, wiping your penis with a tissue, and then touching your girlfriend's vagina—significantly reduce the likelihood of conception. If you or your girlfriend have further concerns about pregnancy or contraception, it may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and guidance.

In the context of sexual health, it’s always a good practice to communicate openly with your partner about contraception and to consider using additional methods of birth control if you are concerned about unintended pregnancy. Options such as hormonal birth control, intrauterine devices (IUDs), or emergency contraception can provide additional layers of protection. Always prioritize safe sex practices to minimize risks not only of pregnancy but also of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
