Mild discomfort in the testicles?
Hello Doctor, three days ago, I started experiencing very mild discomfort in my right testicle, but I usually don't feel anything special.
The discomfort occurs only when going down stairs (not when going up) or during activities that involve jumping or running, where I feel a slight pain (which actually feels more like sensitivity or discomfort).
When I touch or apply light pressure, there is almost no pain, and I can't identify the source of the discomfort.
I don't feel any foreign objects in the testicle.
Additionally, I have a slight feeling of bloating in my lower right abdomen (I'm not sure if this is related).
Currently, I have not engaged in any sexual activity, but I have masturbated.
I wonder if the doctor can determine if there is any possibility of a medical condition.
Thank you.

It could possibly be epididymitis or varicocele.
It is recommended to visit a urology clinic for a thorough examination.
Online consultations cannot replace an in-person evaluation and physical examination by a physician.
If there is a medical condition, it is still advised to seek care at a healthcare facility.

More Info
Mild discomfort in the right testicle can be concerning, and it’s important to consider various potential causes. Based on your description, the discomfort is mild and primarily occurs during certain movements, such as going down stairs or jumping. This suggests that the discomfort may not be severe or indicative of a serious condition, but it still warrants attention.
There are several possible causes for the discomfort you are experiencing:
1. Epididymitis: This is an inflammation of the epididymis, the tube that carries sperm from the testicle. It can cause mild discomfort or pain, often accompanied by swelling. Epididymitis can be caused by infections, including sexually transmitted infections, but it can also occur due to non-infectious causes.
2. Testicular Torsion: Although this condition typically presents with severe pain and requires immediate medical attention, it can sometimes start with mild discomfort. Testicular torsion occurs when the spermatic cord becomes twisted, cutting off blood supply to the testicle. If you experience sudden, severe pain, swelling, or nausea, seek emergency care.
3. Hernia: An inguinal hernia occurs when tissue, such as part of the intestine, protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. This can cause discomfort in the groin or testicular area, especially during physical activity or straining.
4. Varicocele: This is an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, which can cause a dull ache or discomfort. It is often more noticeable when standing or during physical activity.
5. Testicular Trauma: Any recent injury or trauma to the area, even if minor, can lead to discomfort.
6. Referred Pain: Sometimes, discomfort in the testicle can be referred pain from other areas, such as the lower abdomen or back. The slight bloating you mentioned in your right lower abdomen could potentially be related.
Given that you mentioned the discomfort is mild and does not worsen with touch, it may not be an immediate cause for alarm. However, it is essential to monitor your symptoms. If the discomfort persists, worsens, or if you develop additional symptoms such as swelling, redness, fever, or severe pain, it is crucial to seek medical evaluation. A healthcare provider can perform a physical examination and may recommend an ultrasound or other diagnostic tests to determine the underlying cause.
In the meantime, consider avoiding activities that exacerbate the discomfort, such as heavy lifting or high-impact exercises. Wearing supportive underwear may also help alleviate some discomfort.
Lastly, while you mentioned that you have not engaged in sexual activity recently, it’s important to be aware that certain conditions can still arise from non-sexual activities or infections. If you have any concerns about sexually transmitted infections or other health issues, discussing these with a healthcare professional can provide clarity and peace of mind.
In summary, while mild discomfort in the right testicle can arise from various benign causes, it is essential to remain vigilant and consult a healthcare provider if symptoms change or persist. Your health and well-being are paramount, and seeking professional guidance is always a prudent step.
