How many days does it take for an external mole to fully heal?

On August 31, I noticed a feeling of a foreign object in my anus.
It feels swollen, red, and painful, resembling a bulging mass of tissue.
There is no blood in my stool.
Initially, it was about 2.5 cm in size, but it has been gradually shrinking and is now approximately 1.5 cm.
However, I still feel a slight pain, and it feels somewhat hard to the touch.
I have been applying medication and soaking in warm water daily.
I am really worried that it might not shrink back completely.

(1) How many days of applying medication is typically needed for improvement? It has been a while, and although it has shrunk a bit, it hasn't completely returned to normal, which is causing me anxiety and affecting my sleep.

(2) Which topical ointment is recommended: "Hiyu Zhi" or "Takeda Bonan Zhi"?
(3) I have noticed one or two slightly raised, hard bumps near the swollen external hemorrhoid and around the anal area that are painful when pressed.
However, they appear to be a normal flesh color when I look in the mirror.
I am concerned about what they might be.
Could it be a fistula? I have not experienced any pus or bleeding.
What type of medication would you recommend for this?

1.
Based on your description, it seems more like a large thrombosed hemorrhoid, which typically requires 1-2 weeks for symptoms to alleviate and 2-4 weeks for complete resolution.

2.
The components are generally similar.

3.
It could be slight swelling of the adjacent hemorrhoid, but to determine the exact issue, a medical examination by a physician is necessary.

External hemorrhoids, also known as piles, can be a source of discomfort and concern for many individuals. The healing time for external hemorrhoids can vary significantly based on several factors, including the severity of the condition, the treatment methods employed, and individual health factors. Generally, mild cases of external hemorrhoids may resolve within a few days to a week with appropriate care, while more severe cases may take several weeks to heal completely.

1. Healing Time: In your case, since you mentioned that the hemorrhoid was initially about 2.5 cm and has reduced to 1.5 cm, this is a positive sign indicating that it is responding to treatment. Typically, with consistent care, external hemorrhoids can shrink and heal within 1 to 4 weeks. However, if you are still experiencing pain and discomfort, it may take longer for complete resolution. It’s essential to continue with your treatment regimen, including topical medications and warm baths, as these can help alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

2. Topical Treatments: When it comes to topical treatments, both "HemoHeal" (喜癒痔) and "Takeda Proctology" (武田保能痔) are designed to relieve symptoms associated with hemorrhoids. The choice between these products may depend on their specific ingredients and your personal response to them. Generally, creams that contain hydrocortisone can help reduce inflammation and itching, while those with witch hazel can provide soothing relief. It may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare provider or pharmacist to determine which product is best suited for your specific symptoms.

3. Additional Concerns: The presence of additional small, painful bumps near the hemorrhoid could indicate several possibilities, including thrombosed hemorrhoids or skin tags. If these bumps are painful and hard, they may require further evaluation. It’s essential to monitor these symptoms closely. If they persist, worsen, or are accompanied by other symptoms such as bleeding or significant pain, it would be prudent to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough examination. They may recommend further treatment options, such as rubber band ligation or surgical intervention, if necessary.

In summary, while external hemorrhoids can be distressing, many cases resolve with conservative treatment. It’s crucial to maintain a healthy diet rich in fiber, stay hydrated, and avoid straining during bowel movements to prevent recurrence. If you have ongoing concerns or if your symptoms do not improve, seeking medical advice is always a good step to ensure proper management and peace of mind. Remember, your health and comfort are paramount, and addressing these issues with a healthcare provider can provide you with tailored advice and treatment options.
