There are white patches on the coronal sulcus of the foreskin?

Doctor, I used to clean my genital area daily, but for the past two weeks, I've been busy and only managed to clean it every two to three days.
Recently, I've noticed that the left side of my corona has been itchy at times.
A few days ago, after taking a shower, I pushed back the foreskin and noticed some slight redness and swelling.
Initially, I thought the itching caused the redness and swelling, but after a few days of itching again, I checked and saw that the previously red and swollen area seems to have developed a small patch that is either a white spot or a mucosal area.
It feels smooth to the touch, but it doesn't seem to be smegma that can be wiped away.
It looks like a small section of the foreskin has turned white, and it sometimes still itches.
I found some information online suggesting that this could be due to smegma buildup leading to leukoplakia or balanitis, but I only had a few days of infrequent cleaning in the past couple of weeks, and I've never seen smegma before.
I would like to ask the doctor what this situation might be.
I couldn't find much information online, as most people asking about similar issues report no pain or itching, but mine is itchy and has a white appearance.
If the doctor knows what these symptoms might indicate, please let me know.
Thank you.
By the way, I am still single and have no sexual experience, so I believe sexually transmitted infections can be ruled out.

More Info

Understanding the symptoms you are experiencing, particularly the presence of white patches and itching on the foreskin, is crucial for determining the underlying cause and appropriate treatment. Based on your description, several potential conditions could be responsible for your symptoms.

1. Balanitis: This is an inflammation of the glans (the head of the penis) and can occur due to poor hygiene, irritation, or infections. Symptoms often include redness, swelling, itching, and sometimes a discharge. If you have not been cleaning the area regularly, this could lead to a buildup of smegma, which is a combination of dead skin cells, oils, and moisture that can irritate the skin.

2. Yeast Infection: A yeast infection, particularly caused by Candida, can lead to itching, redness, and white patches. This is more common in individuals who may have diabetes or are on antibiotics, as these factors can disrupt the normal flora of the skin.

3. Lichen Sclerosus: This is a chronic skin condition that can affect the genital area, leading to white patches, itching, and sometimes pain. It is characterized by smooth, white areas of skin and can cause scarring if not treated.

4. Psoriasis: This autoimmune condition can also manifest in the genital area, leading to red patches covered with silvery scales. While it is less common in this area, it is still a possibility.

5. Contact Dermatitis: If you have recently used new soaps, lotions, or other products in the area, it could lead to an allergic reaction or irritation, resulting in itching and redness.

Given that you have noted the area is sometimes itchy and has developed a white patch, it is essential to avoid scratching, as this can exacerbate the irritation and lead to secondary infections.

Recommendations:
- Hygiene: Continue to maintain good hygiene by gently washing the area with mild soap and water daily. Avoid harsh soaps or products that can irritate the skin.

- Avoid Irritants: If you suspect that a product may be causing irritation, discontinue its use and observe if symptoms improve.

- Topical Treatments: Over-the-counter antifungal creams may help if a yeast infection is suspected. However, if you suspect a more serious condition like lichen sclerosus or psoriasis, it is essential to consult a healthcare provider for appropriate treatment.

- Consult a Specialist: Since your symptoms have persisted and are causing discomfort, it is advisable to see a urologist or dermatologist. They can perform a physical examination and may conduct tests to determine the exact cause of your symptoms.
- Avoid Sexual Activity: Until you have a clear diagnosis, it may be wise to avoid sexual activity to prevent any potential irritation or complications.

In conclusion, while there are several potential causes for the symptoms you are experiencing, a healthcare professional's evaluation is necessary for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Early intervention can help prevent complications and alleviate discomfort.
