Is pregnancy a possibility that can be ruled out?
Hello, doctor.
I am the questioner from #145293.
I have ruled out the possibility of pregnancy from three months ago.
On April 7, my partner said she experienced a false menstruation that lasted about 2 to 3 days.
Since then, she has been feeling "dizzy and nauseous" for almost a week, which only alleviated on April 12.
On that day, I purchased a "Manshow Leyton pregnancy test" which showed one line.
The dates of her previous menstrual cycles were January 6, February 9, March 9 (light bleeding lasting 7 days), March 19, April 7 (my girlfriend said it was a false menstruation), April 10, and April 12.
We used protection throughout and there was no ejaculation, so it seems unlikely that she could be pregnant, right? The last menstrual period was on March 19, but there was light bleeding on March 9.
What could be the reason for that? Since the test clearly shows one line, can we conclude that she is definitely not pregnant? How long after intercourse should we wait to get an accurate pregnancy test result? Currently, she is experiencing some breast pain; is this a sign that her period is coming soon? If not, would breast pain as an early sign of pregnancy appear this quickly? Thank you for your assistance.
Wishing you good health.

Currently, the possibility of pregnancy before March has been ruled out.
On April 7, the female partner reported experiencing a pseudomenstruation that lasted about 2 to 3 days, followed by symptoms of "dizziness and nausea" for nearly a week, which only alleviated on April 12.
On that day, she purchased a "Manshow Leyton pregnancy test" that showed one line.
The previous menstrual dates were January 6, February 9, March 9 (light bleeding lasting 7 days), March 19, April 7 (the girlfriend mentioned pseudomenstruation), April 10, and April 12, with full condom use and no ejaculation.
Is pregnancy unlikely in this case?
Answer: The last menstrual period was on March 19, but there was light bleeding on March 9.
What could be the reason for that?
Answer: Hormonal imbalance.
It is now clearly showing one line, which indicates that there is definitely no pregnancy, correct?
Answer: Yes.
If you want to test for pregnancy after intercourse, how long should you wait for an accurate result?
Answer: It varies.
Currently, there is some breast tenderness; is this a sign that menstruation is approaching?
Answer: It could be.
If not, would breast pain as a sign of pregnancy appear this quickly?
Answer: No.

More Info
Based on the information provided, it seems that you are experiencing a complex situation regarding potential pregnancy and various symptoms that may be causing concern. Let's break down your questions and concerns systematically.
Understanding Pregnancy Testing and Symptoms
1. Pregnancy Testing Accuracy: You mentioned using a pregnancy test that showed a single line, which typically indicates a negative result. Home pregnancy tests are generally quite accurate when used correctly, especially when taken after a missed period. However, if you test too early, the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) may not be at detectable levels yet. Given that you have had several menstrual cycles and a negative test, it is reasonable to conclude that pregnancy is unlikely at this point.
2. Symptoms of Pregnancy: You noted experiencing symptoms such as dizziness and nausea. These symptoms can be associated with early pregnancy, but they can also be caused by a variety of other factors, including hormonal changes, stress, anxiety, or even gastrointestinal issues. The fact that you had a "false period" or what you described as "假性月經" could indicate that your body is experiencing irregularities that are not related to pregnancy.
3. Chest Pain: The chest pain you are experiencing could be related to hormonal fluctuations, especially if you are nearing your menstrual cycle. It is common for women to experience breast tenderness or pain as a premenstrual symptom. However, if this pain is unusual for you or is accompanied by other concerning symptoms, it would be wise to consult a healthcare provider.
4. Timing of Testing: If you engage in sexual activity, it is generally recommended to wait at least one week after a missed period to take a pregnancy test for the most accurate result. If you are testing after a suspected missed period and still receive a negative result, it is unlikely that you are pregnant.
5. Irregular Menstrual Cycles: Your history of irregular menstrual cycles can complicate the situation. Factors such as stress, weight changes, and hormonal imbalances can lead to variations in your cycle. If you continue to experience irregularities, it may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare provider to explore potential underlying causes.
Conclusion
Given the negative pregnancy test results and the timing of your menstrual cycles, it seems unlikely that you are pregnant. However, if you continue to experience symptoms that concern you, such as persistent dizziness, nausea, or unusual breast pain, it would be advisable to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a more thorough evaluation, including blood tests or imaging if necessary, to rule out any other conditions.
In summary, while the possibility of pregnancy seems low based on your symptoms and testing, it is essential to listen to your body and consult with a healthcare professional if you have ongoing concerns. Regular check-ups can help monitor your reproductive health and address any irregularities in your menstrual cycle.
