Pearly penile papules?
I noticed a few white spots on the head of my penis, and they are uncomfortable.
I visited a clinic yesterday, and the doctor said it was inflammation and that it would heal quickly with medication.
I was wondering if it could be pearly penile papules since I researched online and found similar cases.
However, can discomfort also be caused by pearly penile papules? Last week, I had sexual relations with a sex worker, and I used a condom, so I'm worried about sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
The clinic doctor assured me that it wouldn't be an STI, but I'm still concerned.
Additionally, my penis measures about 4-5 cm when flaccid and 10-11 cm when erect, with a width of 3-4 cm.
Is this considered small? I feel like my penis is small and thin.
Are there any methods to increase penis size?

Dr. Du Shixi reply Urology
Hello: The size of the penis is normal.
If a condom is used throughout, sexually transmitted infections will not be transmitted.
Warts may occur outside the area protected by the condom.
If there are white spots, a medical examination is still necessary.
If the examination shows inflammation, pearly penile papules do not cause inflammation, so there is no need to worry.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
Pearly penile papules (PPP) are small, benign growths that typically appear around the corona of the glans (the head) of the penis. They are often described as small, white or flesh-colored bumps and are completely normal anatomical variations. It’s important to clarify that PPP is not a sexually transmitted infection (STI) and does not require treatment unless there are concerns about appearance or discomfort.
From your description, it seems that you have noticed some white bumps on your glans and are experiencing discomfort. While it is possible that these could be pearly penile papules, the inflammation and discomfort you mentioned could indicate another issue, such as a mild infection or irritation. It’s good that you consulted a doctor who prescribed medication; this is a prudent step in addressing any inflammation.
Regarding your concern about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), it’s understandable to feel anxious, especially after a recent sexual encounter. If you used a condom during intercourse, the risk of contracting STIs is significantly reduced, but not entirely eliminated. If you have ongoing concerns, it may be beneficial to get tested for STIs, as many infections can be asymptomatic. Testing can provide peace of mind and ensure that any potential issues are addressed promptly.
As for the size of your penis, it’s important to remember that penis size varies widely among individuals, and many men share similar concerns about size. The average erect penis size is around 5 to 6 inches in length and about 4.5 to 5 inches in circumference. Your measurements of 4-5 cm (approximately 1.6-2 inches) when flaccid and 10-11 cm (approximately 4-4.3 inches) when erect are within a common range, although they may be on the smaller side of average.
If you are looking for ways to enhance penis size, it’s crucial to approach this topic with caution. Many advertised methods, such as pills, pumps, or surgical procedures, can carry risks and may not provide the desired results. The safest approach is to focus on overall sexual health and confidence. Engaging in regular exercise, maintaining a healthy diet, and fostering good communication with sexual partners can enhance your sexual experiences without the need for invasive procedures.
In summary, the white bumps you are experiencing could be pearly penile papules, but the inflammation suggests that it might be worth monitoring or further evaluating with your healthcare provider. If discomfort persists or worsens, follow up with your doctor. Regarding concerns about penis size, remember that size does not define sexual satisfaction or self-worth. If you have further concerns about your sexual health or anatomy, consider discussing them with a urologist or a healthcare professional specializing in sexual health. They can provide tailored advice and reassurance.
