Menstrual delay

The last menstrual period was from May 22 to May 28, and the last sexual intercourse occurred on June 22, during which a condom was used but there was a concern about air being trapped and the condom being put on incorrectly before being replaced with a new one.
Is there a possibility of pregnancy? My period is already 4-5 days late.
This past month, I have been staying up late, sometimes going to bed at 1 AM and other times at 6 AM.
Could this cause hormonal imbalance and lead to a missed period? The symptoms of my period are not very pronounced; I have heard that cravings for sweets can increase before menstruation, but I haven't experienced that, although my appetite is good.
Occasionally, I feel a dull ache in my lower abdomen, and while I'm not sure if my breasts are tender, there is a slight pain when I touch them.
I have heard that the color of the areolas may darken during pregnancy, but I haven't noticed any changes.
I would appreciate the doctor's guidance on this matter.
Thank you.
Prior to this, my periods were always regular, and consuming cold beverages did not cause any delays; previously, my periods were never more than 2 days late.

Understanding delayed menstruation can be a source of anxiety, especially when pregnancy is a concern. Based on your description, you had your last menstrual period from May 22 to May 28, and you engaged in sexual activity on June 22, using a condom. You mentioned that there was a concern about the condom being improperly used, which can lead to anxiety about potential pregnancy.

First, let's address the possibility of pregnancy. While condoms are generally effective in preventing pregnancy, no contraceptive method is 100% foolproof. If the condom was indeed compromised, there is a possibility of sperm exposure, which could lead to pregnancy. However, since you mentioned that the condom was changed and that you were using it correctly afterward, the risk may be lower.
The most reliable way to determine if you are pregnant is to take a home pregnancy test. These tests are designed to detect the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is produced shortly after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. If you take a test and it is positive, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance.

Now, regarding your delayed menstruation, it is important to consider other factors that could contribute to this situation. You mentioned that you have been experiencing irregular sleep patterns, sometimes going to bed as late as 1 AM or even 6 AM. Sleep disturbances can significantly impact hormonal balance, leading to menstrual irregularities. The hypothalamus, which regulates hormones related to the menstrual cycle, can be affected by stress, lack of sleep, and changes in routine.
In addition to sleep, lifestyle factors such as diet, stress levels, and physical activity can also play a role in menstrual regularity. You noted that your appetite is good, and while cravings for sweets can be a sign of impending menstruation for some, it is not a definitive indicator. The discomfort you feel in your lower abdomen could be related to hormonal fluctuations rather than pregnancy.

If your menstrual cycle has been consistently regular in the past, a delay of 4-5 days could be attributed to various factors, including stress, hormonal imbalances, or changes in your lifestyle. It is not uncommon for women to experience occasional delays in their menstrual cycle, especially if they have undergone recent changes in their routine or stress levels.

In summary, while there is a possibility of pregnancy, the best course of action is to take a home pregnancy test to confirm or rule it out. If the test is negative and your period does not arrive soon, or if you continue to experience irregularities, it would be wise to consult with a healthcare provider. They can help assess your situation, consider any underlying hormonal imbalances, and provide guidance on how to restore regularity to your menstrual cycle.
In the meantime, try to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including regular sleep patterns, a balanced diet, and stress management techniques. These factors can help support your overall hormonal health and may contribute to the regularity of your menstrual cycle.
