Is it a sign of pregnancy?

Menstruation started on May 19, and sexual intercourse occurred on May 25, which was the 7th day of the menstrual cycle.
A pregnancy test was taken 25 days after intercourse, and menstruation occurred again on June 21.
Another pregnancy test was taken 60 days after intercourse, and menstruation started again on July 26.
Both pregnancy tests were negative, and both menstrual periods lasted about a week, with heavy flow during the first three days.
Recently, there has been increased sleepiness, and if I go too long without eating at night, I feel a bit nauseous.
Sometimes I feel hungry but don't have much appetite and eat very little.
On the first day after the July menstruation ended, I experienced abdominal pain similar to menstrual cramps.
Is there still a possibility that these are signs of pregnancy? Can I trust the negative pregnancy tests and the fact that menstruation has occurred? Additionally, I took medication to induce menstruation in April due to polycystic ovary syndrome; could this have affected the pregnancy test results or the occurrence of menstruation while still being pregnant?

Hello, if you have had two menstrual periods and both pregnancy tests are negative, you can be assured that you are not pregnant.
Taking medication to induce menstruation for polycystic ovary syndrome will not affect the results of a pregnancy test.
Wishing you good health.

More Info

Based on the information you've provided, it appears that you have been experiencing a series of menstrual cycles and have engaged in sexual activity during your cycle. You have also taken multiple pregnancy tests, all of which have returned negative results, and you have had regular menstrual periods following these tests. Given this context, let's address your concerns regarding the possibility of pregnancy despite negative tests and the symptoms you are experiencing.

Firstly, it is important to understand that home pregnancy tests (HPTs) are generally quite reliable when used correctly. They detect the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which is produced shortly after a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. If you have taken two tests that both returned negative results and have had your menstrual periods, it is highly unlikely that you are pregnant. Menstrual bleeding typically indicates that the body is not pregnant, as the uterine lining is shed when a pregnancy does not occur.

Your symptoms of increased sleepiness, nausea when hungry, and abdominal cramping can be concerning, but they are not definitive indicators of pregnancy. These symptoms can be attributed to a variety of factors, including hormonal fluctuations, stress, dietary changes, or even the effects of medications you may be taking for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It is also worth noting that hormonal treatments can sometimes lead to irregularities in menstrual cycles and may affect the timing and nature of your periods.

Regarding your question about the potential impact of medications for PCOS on pregnancy test results, it is generally unlikely that these medications would cause false negatives on pregnancy tests. However, certain hormonal treatments can influence your menstrual cycle and may lead to symptoms that mimic pregnancy. If you have been taking medications to induce menstruation, it is possible that these could affect your cycle and symptoms, but they should not prevent the production of hCG if you were indeed pregnant.

In summary, based on your history of negative pregnancy tests and regular menstrual cycles, it is reasonable to conclude that you are not pregnant. However, if your symptoms persist or worsen, or if you have further concerns about your menstrual cycle or potential pregnancy, it would be advisable to consult with a healthcare provider. They can perform a more thorough evaluation, including blood tests or ultrasounds, to rule out any underlying conditions and provide you with peace of mind.

In conclusion, while it is theoretically possible for some rare cases of pregnancy to go undetected, the combination of negative tests and regular menstruation strongly suggests that you are not pregnant. It is always best to discuss any ongoing symptoms with a healthcare professional who can provide personalized advice and care tailored to your specific situation.
