Postcoital bleeding
I had sexual intercourse with my boyfriend on October 19th.
He entered suddenly, which may have caused some dryness, and the process was a bit rough.
Afterwards, there was bleeding, and by the evening, there was a significant amount of blood, though not excessive.
The next morning, my underwear was stained with blood.
Since then, I have continued to experience bleeding, but the amount has gradually decreased.
By October 21st, there was still a small amount of dark red blood.
I have not experienced any discomfort during these three days.
I have had post-coital bleeding before, but it usually resolved within a day.
This time, the duration is longer, and I am more concerned.
I would like to ask the doctor if there is any problem with this situation!

Hello, the causes of vaginal bleeding may include hormonal imbalance, emotional factors, diet, age, and others.
However, it is crucial to rule out conditions such as uterine tumors, endometrial hyperplasia, cervical lesions, and vaginal lesions.
If the bleeding persists, it is advisable to consult a physician for further evaluation.
Thank you! Wishing you safety and health.

More Info
Post-sexual bleeding can be a concerning issue for many individuals, and it’s important to understand the potential causes, implications, and when to seek medical help. Based on your description, it seems that the bleeding occurred after a somewhat vigorous sexual encounter, which could suggest a few possibilities.
Firstly, one common cause of post-coital bleeding is trauma to the vaginal or cervical tissues. This can happen if there is insufficient lubrication, leading to friction during intercourse. The sudden and forceful penetration you described may have caused minor abrasions or tears in the vaginal walls or cervix, resulting in bleeding. This type of bleeding is usually not serious and may resolve on its own within a few days, especially if there are no accompanying symptoms such as pain, discomfort, or unusual discharge.
Another potential cause could be hormonal fluctuations or irregularities in your menstrual cycle. If you are close to your expected period, it’s possible that the bleeding could be related to your menstrual cycle rather than a direct result of the sexual activity. However, since you mentioned that this bleeding has lasted longer than previous instances, it’s worth considering other factors.
Infections, such as sexually transmitted infections (STIs), can also lead to post-sexual bleeding. If there is any chance that you or your partner may have been exposed to an STI, it is advisable to get tested. Symptoms of an infection may include unusual discharge, odor, or pain during urination or intercourse.
Given that you have experienced similar bleeding in the past but typically for a shorter duration, it’s understandable that you are concerned about this episode. The fact that the bleeding has decreased over time and that you are not experiencing any pain or discomfort is reassuring. However, it is essential to monitor your symptoms closely.
If the bleeding persists beyond a week, increases in volume, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as severe pain, fever, or unusual discharge, you should seek medical attention promptly. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough examination, including a pelvic exam, to rule out any serious conditions such as cervical polyps, fibroids, or other abnormalities.
In summary, while post-sexual bleeding can often be attributed to minor trauma or hormonal changes, it is crucial to remain vigilant about your symptoms. If you have any doubts or if the situation changes, do not hesitate to consult a healthcare professional. They can provide you with the necessary evaluations and peace of mind regarding your reproductive health. Remember, open communication with your partner about comfort levels during sexual activity can also help prevent future occurrences of similar issues.
