Clumpy semen
Hello Doctor, recently I have been experiencing the presence of irregular jelly-like strands (approximately 3 to 10 mm) that are slightly yellow and translucent in my semen.
Sometimes during ejaculation, I even feel a sense of blockage, requiring multiple ejaculations to fully expel it (with each subsequent ejaculation resulting in a smaller volume of semen, and sometimes I can't expel it at all).
My ejaculation frequency is almost once a day, so there isn't an issue of prolonged abstinence.
I have also observed the jelly-like substance after removing it, and after a few hours, it did not liquefy but instead dried into a hard mass.
This issue has been troubling me for a long time; after ejaculation, if I feel a blockage (as if the jelly is stuck in the duct), I experience itching and discomfort in the genital area, and I have a strong urge to ejaculate again!

Hello: It is possible that individual constitution plays a significant role.
I recommend testing the semen to check for any issues with liquefaction.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
Understanding jelly-like semen and associated urological issues can be quite concerning, and it’s important to address these symptoms with a comprehensive approach. The presence of jelly-like, semi-transparent, irregular strands in your semen, along with feelings of blockage during ejaculation, can be indicative of several underlying conditions.
Possible Causes
1. Prostate Issues: The prostate gland plays a crucial role in semen production. Conditions such as prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate) can lead to changes in semen consistency and may cause discomfort during ejaculation. Chronic prostatitis can also lead to symptoms like pelvic pain and urinary issues.
2. Seminal Vesicle Dysfunction: The seminal vesicles produce a significant portion of the fluid that makes up semen. If these glands are inflamed or not functioning properly, it can result in abnormal semen consistency.
3. Dehydration or Diet: Sometimes, dehydration or dietary factors can affect semen viscosity. A diet low in certain nutrients or high in processed foods may contribute to changes in semen quality.
4. Infections: Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or other infections in the urogenital tract can lead to changes in semen and may cause discomfort or itching.
5. Hormonal Imbalances: Hormonal levels, particularly testosterone, can influence semen production and quality. An imbalance may lead to changes in the consistency of semen.
6. Frequent Ejaculation: While you mentioned that you ejaculate almost daily, frequent ejaculation can sometimes lead to temporary changes in semen consistency. However, if you are experiencing discomfort or blockage, this may not be the sole cause.
Recommended Solutions
1. Consult a Urologist: Given the symptoms you are experiencing, it is crucial to consult a urologist. They can perform a thorough examination, including a physical exam and possibly tests such as a semen analysis, urine tests, or imaging studies to determine the underlying cause.
2. Hydration and Diet: Ensure you are well-hydrated and consider adjusting your diet to include more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Foods rich in zinc (like nuts and seeds) and omega-3 fatty acids (like fish) may support prostate health.
3. Avoid Irritants: If you suspect that certain activities or substances (like alcohol, caffeine, or spicy foods) may be irritating your urogenital tract, consider reducing or eliminating them from your diet.
4. Pelvic Floor Exercises: Engaging in pelvic floor exercises (Kegel exercises) can help strengthen the pelvic muscles, which may alleviate some symptoms related to ejaculation and urinary function.
5. Medication: If an infection or inflammation is diagnosed, your doctor may prescribe antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medications to address the issue.
6. Regular Check-ups: Regular urological check-ups can help monitor your prostate health and catch any potential issues early on.
Conclusion
The symptoms you are experiencing with jelly-like semen and feelings of blockage during ejaculation warrant a thorough evaluation by a healthcare professional. While lifestyle changes can be beneficial, a proper diagnosis is essential to determine the most effective treatment plan. Do not hesitate to seek medical advice, as addressing these symptoms early can lead to better outcomes and improved quality of life.
