Chest issues
I'm 26 years old and I want to ask about the scent of my underwear, which has a milky fragrance.
I noticed that my boyfriend often goes into the bathroom for a long time after I shower, which I found suspicious.
I recorded him with my phone and discovered that he frequently smells my underwear.
When I asked him, he said my underwear has a milky scent.
I decided to test it myself for several days.
When I take off my underwear in the shower, I smell it and indeed, it has a scent similar to milk tea.
My mother, who has C-cup breasts, has a strange odor in her underwear.
My younger sister, who is 19 and has D-cup breasts, has a very faint scent.
My older sister, who is 30 and has F-cup breasts, has a much stronger odor, and mine is only about half as strong as hers.
I have E-cup breasts and I want to know where this scent comes from.
I also noticed that my 30-year-old sister doesn't have much of a scent when I smell her chest.
I told her that my underwear doesn't have a scent either.
I hope the doctor can provide some answers.
By the way, I only smell the underwear that hasn't been washed.
Could this provide any information?

Hello, it should be body odor secreted by the glands near the breast, and it should not be a major concern.
Wishing you good health.

Understanding unusual odors in women's lingerie can be a complex topic, as it may involve various factors including personal hygiene, hormonal changes, and even the type of fabric used in the lingerie. In your case, you mentioned that your lingerie has a scent reminiscent of milk tea, which is quite unique. Let's explore some potential reasons for this phenomenon and what it might indicate.
1. Hormonal Influences: Hormones play a significant role in body odor. During different phases of the menstrual cycle, hormonal fluctuations can lead to changes in body odor. For example, increased estrogen levels can sometimes result in a sweeter scent. Since you are 26, if you are experiencing any hormonal changes, this could potentially explain the milk-like scent.
2. Diet: What you eat can significantly affect your body odor. Foods rich in certain compounds, such as garlic, onions, and spices, can alter your scent. Conversely, a diet high in dairy products may contribute to a milk-like odor. If you consume a lot of dairy, it might be worth considering how this impacts your body chemistry.
3. Personal Hygiene: Regular washing of lingerie is essential for maintaining freshness. If your lingerie is not washed frequently or properly, it can develop odors. Additionally, the use of certain detergents or fabric softeners may leave residues that contribute to unusual scents. It’s important to ensure that your lingerie is cleaned with products that are gentle and suitable for sensitive skin.
4. Bacterial Flora: The human body is home to a variety of bacteria, some of which can produce odors. The area around the breasts and underarms can harbor bacteria that may interact with sweat and other bodily fluids, leading to distinctive scents. If you notice that the odor is stronger after physical activity or sweating, this could be a contributing factor.
5. Fabric Type: The material of your lingerie can also influence how odors are absorbed and retained. Synthetic fabrics may trap odors more than natural fibers like cotton. If you are wearing lingerie made from synthetic materials, consider switching to breathable fabrics to see if that helps reduce any unusual scents.
6. Health Considerations: While a milk-like scent is not typically a cause for concern, it is essential to be aware of any accompanying symptoms. If you experience unusual discharge, irritation, or any other changes in your body, it may be wise to consult a healthcare professional. They can rule out any infections or other health issues that might be contributing to changes in odor.
7. Communication with Partners: It’s important to have open and honest communication with your partner regarding personal matters like this. If your boyfriend has expressed curiosity about the scent, it might be beneficial to discuss it together. Understanding each other's perspectives can help alleviate any concerns or misunderstandings.
In conclusion, the milk-like scent in your lingerie could be attributed to a combination of hormonal changes, dietary habits, personal hygiene practices, and the type of fabric used. If the odor is not accompanied by any discomfort or other symptoms, it is likely not a cause for concern. However, if you have any doubts or experience changes in your body, consulting a healthcare provider is always a good idea. They can provide personalized advice and ensure that everything is functioning as it should be.
