Can I get pregnant?
On January 1st, I had sexual relations with my girlfriend.
We initially used a condom, but realized it was on the wrong side and switched it (we had not yet penetrated her).
After putting it on correctly, I only penetrated halfway before withdrawing.
Is there a chance of pregnancy from this? My girlfriend had her normal menstrual period from January 3rd to January 7th, but on January 19th, she noticed some bleeding.
Could this be ovulation bleeding? She also had her normal period on February 2nd, which ended on February 6th.
On February 12th and 13th, she experienced some brown discharge (on the 12th, there was also a small piece of endometrial tissue).
Are these symptoms indicative of ovulation bleeding? Could it possibly be implantation bleeding? Should I take a pregnancy test?

Hello, the chances of pregnancy are low.
The other bleeding could be ovulatory bleeding, especially if it continues to occur.
It is recommended to see a gynecologist.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
When considering the possibility of pregnancy, it is essential to understand the timing of ovulation, the menstrual cycle, and the nature of any bleeding that may occur. Based on your description, let's break down the events and clarify your concerns.
1. Timing of Intercourse: You mentioned having intercourse on January 1st, where a condom was initially placed incorrectly but was then corrected before penetration. Since you only penetrated partially and then withdrew, the likelihood of sperm entering the vagina is significantly reduced. However, it is important to note that pre-ejaculatory fluid (pre-cum) can contain sperm, albeit in smaller quantities. If there was any exposure to pre-ejaculatory fluid before the condom was properly placed, there is a slight risk of pregnancy.
2. Menstrual Cycle and Bleeding: Your girlfriend's menstrual cycle appears to have followed its normal pattern, with her period starting on January 3rd and ending on January 7th. This indicates that she was not pregnant at that time, as menstruation typically signifies that implantation has not occurred.
3. Subsequent Bleeding: The bleeding observed on January 19th could be attributed to several factors. If this bleeding occurred around the time of ovulation (which typically happens about 14 days after the start of the last menstrual period), it could be ovulation bleeding. Ovulation bleeding is usually light and can be accompanied by mild cramping.
4. February Events: You noted that your girlfriend had her period again on February 2nd, which is another indicator that she was not pregnant from the January encounter. The presence of brown discharge on February 12th and 13th could be related to hormonal fluctuations, ovulation, or the tail end of her menstrual cycle. Brown discharge often indicates older blood that is being expelled from the body, which can happen at various times in the menstrual cycle.
5. Implantation Bleeding: Implantation bleeding typically occurs about 6 to 12 days after conception when a fertilized egg attaches to the uterine lining. Given the timeline you provided, if there was any chance of conception from the January 1st encounter, implantation bleeding would likely have occurred around January 7th to January 13th, which does not align with the bleeding you observed on January 19th.
6. Pregnancy Testing: If there is any uncertainty about the possibility of pregnancy, taking a home pregnancy test is a good idea. These tests are most accurate when taken after a missed period. Since your girlfriend's periods have been regular, and she has had two menstrual cycles since the encounter, the likelihood of pregnancy is low. However, if she experiences any unusual symptoms or if her next period is late, testing would be advisable.
In summary, based on the information provided, the likelihood of pregnancy from the encounter on January 1st is low, especially since your girlfriend had her period shortly after. The subsequent bleeding could be attributed to ovulation or hormonal changes rather than implantation. If there are any concerns or if her menstrual cycle becomes irregular, consulting with a healthcare provider would be beneficial for further evaluation and peace of mind.
