Swelling on the side of the chest near the armpit?

Recently, I developed three to four red spots on my chest that looked like blisters.
Later, I noticed a swollen lump about 1 centimeter in size on the side of my chest near the armpit.
It is painful whether I press on it or not.
Eventually, when I pressed on the swollen area, some yellow fluid started to ooze out.
Could this be a fibrocystic cyst?

Most nodules visible on the surface of the skin are typically skin growths rather than something that originates from the breast tissue itself.

When it comes to painful lumps in the breast area, particularly near the armpit, there are several potential causes that should be considered. Based on your description of having red spots resembling blisters, followed by a painful lump near the armpit that exudes yellow fluid, it is essential to explore a few possibilities.

1. Fibrocystic Changes: This is a common condition characterized by the presence of lumps or cysts in the breast tissue. These lumps can be painful, especially in relation to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle. However, fibrocystic changes typically do not present with yellow fluid drainage.
2. Infection or Abscess: The presence of a painful lump that drains yellow fluid could indicate an infection, such as a breast abscess. This condition occurs when bacteria infect the breast tissue, leading to the formation of pus-filled lumps. The redness and pain you described, along with the discharge, suggest that this could be a possibility. If an abscess is suspected, it is crucial to seek medical attention promptly, as it may require drainage and antibiotics.

3. Sebaceous Cyst: These are non-cancerous lumps that can occur in the breast area and may become inflamed or infected. They can sometimes drain yellowish fluid, which could align with your symptoms. While sebaceous cysts are generally harmless, they can become painful and may require removal if they become recurrent or bothersome.

4. Lipoma: This is a benign tumor made of fat tissue that can develop in various parts of the body, including the breast. Lipomas are usually painless, but if they are located near nerves or other sensitive structures, they may cause discomfort.

5. Other Conditions: Other potential causes of breast lumps include fibroadenomas (benign tumors), mastitis (inflammation of breast tissue), or even more serious conditions like breast cancer. However, the presence of yellow fluid and the acute pain you are experiencing make these less likely, especially if you are relatively young and have no significant risk factors.

Given the symptoms you have described, it is highly advisable to consult with a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. A clinical examination, along with imaging studies such as an ultrasound or mammogram, may be necessary to determine the exact nature of the lump. In some cases, a biopsy may be warranted to rule out any malignant processes.

In summary, while fibrocystic changes could be a possibility, the presence of a painful lump that drains yellow fluid raises concerns for an infection or abscess. It is crucial to seek medical attention to receive an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Early intervention can help prevent complications and ensure that any underlying issues are addressed effectively.
