Excessive masturbation leading to night sweats? Blockage of the vas deferens?
Hello Dr.
Du, I have been masturbating since I was 18 years old.
Initially, I did it about once a day, then it changed to once every two days, and now it has become more frequent again.
Around the age of 20, I started experiencing symptoms of night sweats, which have persisted until now.
Whenever I masturbate, my groin area becomes completely wet (to the extent that it can wet the bed), and the same happens when I am intimate with my girlfriend.
This leads me to suspect that it might be caused by excessive masturbation.
Could these symptoms possibly be related to kidney deficiency or insufficiency? If so, should I seek help from traditional Chinese medicine or Western medicine for treatment? Additionally, during masturbation today, I noticed that the ejaculation felt noticeably obstructed.
There was a swelling sensation in the area between my testicles and anus, as if something was trying to come out but was blocked, accompanied by a slight aching feeling.
Although I still ejaculated, it was very difficult.
About an hour later, I still felt somewhat uncomfortable.
Could this be a symptom of excessive masturbation, or could there be other underlying causes? I would appreciate your guidance.
Thank you.
Note: I personally believe that there is no issue with erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation.

More Info
Excessive masturbation can lead to various physical and psychological symptoms, including night sweats and discomfort in the genital area. Your description of experiencing significant sweating, especially in the groin area, and the sensation of blockage or discomfort during ejaculation raises several points worth discussing.
Firstly, night sweats can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormonal changes, anxiety, infections, and even excessive physical activity. In young males, particularly those who engage in frequent masturbation, it is not uncommon to experience heightened anxiety or stress related to sexual performance or guilt, which can exacerbate sweating. However, night sweats are not typically directly linked to masturbation itself.
The sensation of discomfort or a feeling of blockage during ejaculation could be indicative of several conditions. One possibility is that you may be experiencing a form of prostatitis, which is inflammation of the prostate gland. This condition can lead to symptoms such as pain during ejaculation, a feeling of fullness or pressure in the pelvic area, and sometimes even urinary issues. Another potential cause could be a blockage in the seminal ducts, which may lead to discomfort during ejaculation.
It's also important to consider the possibility of pelvic floor muscle tension. Excessive masturbation can sometimes lead to increased tension in the pelvic floor muscles, which can contribute to discomfort during sexual activity or ejaculation. This tension can create a sensation of tightness or blockage, as you described.
Regarding your concerns about kidney health, traditional Chinese medicine often associates symptoms like night sweats and fatigue with "kidney deficiency." However, from a Western medical perspective, these symptoms are not typically linked to kidney function in young, healthy individuals. If you are experiencing significant discomfort or changes in your sexual health, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation.
In terms of treatment, both Western and Eastern medicine can offer benefits. Western medicine may provide more immediate relief through medications or physical therapy for pelvic floor dysfunction, while traditional Chinese medicine may offer holistic approaches that focus on balancing the body's energy.
If you are considering seeking help, it would be wise to start with a primary care physician or a urologist who specializes in male reproductive health. They can provide a comprehensive assessment and recommend appropriate tests, such as a urinalysis or imaging studies, to rule out any underlying conditions. If necessary, they may refer you to a specialist in sexual health or a pelvic floor physical therapist.
In summary, while excessive masturbation may contribute to some of the symptoms you are experiencing, it is essential to consider other potential causes. Seeking professional medical advice is crucial to address your concerns effectively and to ensure that any underlying conditions are properly diagnosed and treated.
