Potential Penile Injuries: Signs and Concerns - Urology

Penile issues

One day, while engaging in sexual activity with my partner on the sofa in a normal position, she was lying down and moving up and down.
I heard a sound that resembled tearing, which also sounded like her feet rubbing against the sofa.
After this incident, I did not experience any discomfort.
The next day, I was able to engage in self-stimulation without any issues and even ejaculated.
On the third day, I observed that there were no visible abnormalities, and I did not experience any pain.
However, I noticed that the firmness of my erections felt slightly diminished, which I attributed to possible psychological factors or fatigue (as I have experienced similar situations under normal circumstances before).
Nevertheless, I still feel something is off...
I'm unsure if this could indicate a potential injury!

When it comes to potential penile injuries during sexual activity, it is essential to understand the anatomy and the mechanics involved in sexual intercourse. The penis is composed of erectile tissue, blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue, which can be susceptible to injury under certain circumstances.
In your case, the incident you described—hearing a tearing sound during intercourse—could understandably raise concerns about a possible injury. However, it is important to note that not all sounds or sensations during sexual activity indicate an injury. The sound you heard could have been a result of friction between the body and the sofa, or it could have been a normal sound associated with movement.
The absence of immediate pain, swelling, bruising, or any visible abnormalities the following day is a positive sign. Typically, penile injuries, such as a penile fracture, would present with symptoms like severe pain, swelling, bruising, and difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection. A penile fracture, which is a rupture of the tunica albuginea (the fibrous covering of the erectile tissue), usually occurs during vigorous sexual activity, especially if there is a sudden bending of the erect penis. This injury is often accompanied by a "popping" or "cracking" sound, significant pain, and swelling.

Given that you experienced no discomfort or abnormalities after the incident, it is likely that you did not sustain a significant injury. The slight decrease in hardness during erections could be attributed to psychological factors, fatigue, or anxiety rather than a physical injury. It is not uncommon for individuals to experience fluctuations in erectile function due to stress, fatigue, or emotional factors, especially after a concerning incident.

If you continue to feel uneasy about the situation or if you notice any changes in your erectile function, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional. They can perform a physical examination and, if necessary, conduct further tests to rule out any underlying issues.
In summary, while the sound you heard during intercourse may have been alarming, the lack of immediate symptoms and the absence of visible abnormalities suggest that a significant injury is unlikely. However, if you have ongoing concerns about your erectile function or any other symptoms, seeking medical advice is always a prudent course of action. Remember, open communication with your partner and addressing any psychological factors can also play a significant role in your sexual health and performance.

The penile white membrane is not that fragile, but the photo shows that you have a slight curvature of the penis. If there is pain during intercourse, surgical intervention should be considered.
