The issue of elevated body temperature and hot flashes from pregnancy to post-abortion?

I'm sorry to bother you, doctor.
I have many questions, and I appreciate your help.
I am a patient with generalized anxiety disorder, and I have been suffering from long-term insomnia due to autonomic dysregulation.
There are many issues and pressures in my family that I cannot escape, leading to a vicious cycle (I have been taking psychiatric medication for many years).
My mental and physical condition has been poor.
The first day of my last menstrual period was on February 23rd.
On March 10th, I experienced bleeding for two days, and after that, I did not have my period until the end of March.
A pregnancy test confirmed that I was pregnant (my menstrual cycle has been irregular).
I was about 8 weeks pregnant, but the size was only around 5-6 weeks.
After becoming pregnant, I noticed that I had a constant feeling of heat, with my ear temperature reaching a maximum of 37.7°C and a minimum of 36.1-36.5°C (there was a significant fluctuation, and I often felt very hot and uncomfortable).
This condition persisted until April 22nd, when I underwent a vacuum aspiration procedure for abortion.
The day after the procedure, I had an abdominal ultrasound that showed everything was clear, and I was prescribed medication for three days: Betadine (for sterilization), Pain Relief Film-Coated Tablets, and Lichizhu (anti-inflammatory pain medication).
That night, my body temperature returned to 36°C, but after starting the medication three days later, my temperature rose again to around 37.5-37.7°C daily.
I do not have any symptoms of nasal congestion or fever.
I would like to ask the doctor if the feeling of heat and fever is a normal state during pregnancy, and if it will take some time for my body temperature to normalize after the procedure.
Is it also normal for my head to feel warm after taking these medications? Additionally, I am experiencing abdominal swelling and bloating; will this subside? Thank you, doctor, for patiently reading my questions.

1.
After an abortion, there is a risk of developing pelvic inflammatory disease; it is recommended to return to the original facility for a follow-up.
2.
Symptoms influenced by pregnancy hormones may take about one month to return to normal.

After experiencing an abortion, it is common to have questions regarding body temperature changes and discomfort. Your concerns are valid, especially considering your history of anxiety and irregular menstrual cycles. Let’s break down the various aspects of your situation.

Firstly, it is important to understand that body temperature can fluctuate for several reasons, particularly after an abortion. During pregnancy, the body undergoes significant hormonal changes, primarily due to increased levels of progesterone, which can elevate your basal body temperature. After an abortion, these hormone levels drop, which may lead to a decrease in body temperature. However, it is not unusual for some women to experience a prolonged elevated body temperature post-abortion, especially if there are residual hormonal effects or if the body is still in the process of healing.

In your case, you mentioned experiencing a wide range of temperatures, from 36.1°C to 37.7°C. This fluctuation can be attributed to several factors, including hormonal changes, stress, and the medications you are taking post-abortion. The medications prescribed, such as antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs, can also have side effects that may contribute to feelings of warmth or fever-like symptoms. It is crucial to monitor your symptoms closely; if you experience persistent high temperatures or other concerning symptoms, it is advisable to consult your healthcare provider.

Regarding your discomfort, such as abdominal swelling and a feeling of fullness, this can be a normal part of the recovery process after an abortion. The body needs time to heal, and it is common to experience some bloating or discomfort as the uterus contracts back to its normal size. This process can take several weeks. If the swelling persists or is accompanied by severe pain, fever, or unusual discharge, it is essential to seek medical attention, as these could be signs of infection or other complications.

Your mental health history, including anxiety and sleep disturbances, can also play a significant role in how you perceive physical symptoms. Stress and anxiety can exacerbate physical discomfort and may lead to heightened sensitivity to bodily sensations. It is essential to address both your physical and mental health during this recovery period. Consider discussing your mental health with a professional who can provide support and coping strategies.

In summary, while fluctuations in body temperature and discomfort after an abortion can be normal, it is essential to monitor your symptoms closely. If you experience persistent high temperatures, severe pain, or other concerning symptoms, do not hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider. Additionally, addressing your mental health is crucial during this time, as it can significantly impact your overall well-being. Remember to give your body the time it needs to heal and to seek support when necessary.
