There are small black bumps on the testicles and penis that are itchy when scratched and painful when touched?
Hello Doctor: Recently, I have developed small bumps on the skin of my left thigh near the inner side, close to the groin.
At first, they were tiny and dark, and they itch when scratched and hurt when touched.
I thought they were pimples, but they don't seem to be.
Now, I have similar bumps appearing on my penis as well, which also hurt when touched, and they seem to be increasing in number.
I'm really worried it might be some strange disease.
Could you please tell me what these symptoms might indicate? I want to seek medical attention but I'm not sure which specialty to visit...

It sounds like you're experiencing a concerning issue with painful black bumps on your scrotum and penis. Based on your description, these bumps could be indicative of several conditions, and it's important to approach this situation with care.
Firstly, the appearance of small, painful, black bumps in the genital area can be caused by a variety of factors. Some possibilities include:
1. Folliculitis: This is an inflammation of the hair follicles, which can occur due to irritation, infection, or blockage. It often presents as small red or black bumps that can be itchy or painful.
2. Pearly Penile Papules: These are small, harmless bumps that can appear around the corona of the penis. They are usually skin-colored or white and are not painful. However, if they are black and painful, they may not be pearly penile papules.
3. Sebaceous Cysts: These are non-cancerous lumps that can occur when sebaceous glands become blocked. They can sometimes become inflamed or infected, leading to pain and discomfort.
4. Genital Warts: Caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), these can appear as small, flesh-colored or gray bumps and can be itchy or painful. They may also have a rough surface.
5. Fungal or Bacterial Infections: Infections in the genital area can lead to the development of bumps or lesions that may be painful and itchy.
6. Skin Conditions: Conditions such as eczema or psoriasis can also manifest in the genital area, leading to irritation and the formation of bumps.
Given the symptoms you're experiencing—pain, itching, and the increasing number of bumps—it's crucial to seek medical attention. You should consider visiting a dermatologist or a urologist, as both specialists can evaluate skin conditions and issues related to the genital area.
When you visit the doctor, be prepared to provide a detailed history of your symptoms, including when they started, any changes in appearance, and any other associated symptoms (like discharge or changes in urination). This information will help the physician make a more accurate diagnosis.
In the meantime, avoid scratching the bumps, as this can lead to further irritation or infection. Keep the area clean and dry, and consider wearing loose-fitting underwear to reduce friction.
It's understandable to feel anxious about these symptoms, but many conditions affecting the genital area are treatable. Early diagnosis and intervention can lead to better outcomes, so don't hesitate to seek medical advice. Remember, your health is important, and addressing these symptoms promptly is the best course of action.
