Hello Dr.
Chen, I recently accompanied my girlfriend to see a doctor because she was diagnosed with an abdominal cyst and underwent surgery.
My girlfriend is quite slim, but her lower abdomen appears quite large.
Now, when I look at myself, I feel like my abdomen isn't completely flat either.
When standing, there is some bulging below the navel, and when sitting, it is quite noticeable, resembling love handles.
Although when I stand up straight or lie down, it doesn't show as much.
Should I go to the hospital for a gastroenterology consultation, or is it sufficient to wait for a follow-up appointment to discuss it with my family medicine doctor after some blood tests? My family and girlfriend suggest that I should go to the gym instead.
I’m not sure if my girlfriend's recent situation has made me a bit anxious.
