Doctor, I have a question.
When I lie flat while sleeping, my heartbeat is normal and I can feel it.
However, when I turn to sleep on my left side, I can still feel my heartbeat, which is also normal and regular, but I can distinctly feel the apical impulse only when I sleep on my left side.
The rhythm is very normal but quite pronounced.
I would like to know if this is related to sleeping on my left side.
I had an electrocardiogram earlier this year, and it was normal.
I'm just curious about what might cause this phenomenon, as it only happens when I sleep on my left side!

Sleeping on the left or right side does not affect heart rate; however, when sleeping on the left side, the heart is closer to the chest wall, making the heartbeat more noticeable.
