Nipple stimulation may cause pain?


Five years ago, my nipple was pinched hard between someone's thumb and index finger nails, and it felt like the nerve in my nipple was damaged.
Normally, the nipple doesn't hurt, but during stimulation, the right nipple does experience pain, which is quite troubling in sexual matters.
I have consulted a breast surgeon, who said there was no issue, but mentioned that surgery could potentially cause more nerve damage.
I'm unsure if there is peripheral nerve damage and whether there is a possibility of recovery.
