Seizure with tachycardia?
Hello doctor! I often feel a contraction or heartbeat sensation in the middle of my stomach.
Then, in the area between my two collarbones, I also feel a heartbeat sensation.
During these episodes, when I check my neck pulse, it goes from a regular rhythm to a twitching pattern that matches the frequency of the twitching.
During these episodes, my heart rate is between 65-75.
I would like to know if this is a stomach issue or a heart problem.
It happens about 20 times a day, and each time it’s just one heartbeat and then it stops! I already have a history of stomach issues.
Thank you, doctor.

Hello, besides potential stomach issues, there may also be some paroxysmal arrhythmias.
It's difficult to determine if there are any heart problems, so I recommend visiting a cardiology clinic for further evaluation.
We pray for your well-being.

Hello! Thank you for your question regarding heart palpitations and their potential relationship with gastrointestinal issues. Based on your description, it sounds like you are experiencing a sensation of heartbeats that coincide with contractions in your stomach area, along with a feeling of pulsation in your throat. You also mentioned that during these episodes, your heart rate remains within a normal range of 65-75 beats per minute, and that you have a history of gastrointestinal problems.
To address your concerns, it's important to understand that heart palpitations can be caused by a variety of factors, including anxiety, stress, and gastrointestinal issues such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or gastritis. When the stomach is distended or when there is increased pressure in the abdominal cavity, it can sometimes lead to sensations that feel like heart palpitations. This is because the diaphragm, which separates the chest from the abdomen, can be affected by the state of the stomach, leading to sensations that may be interpreted as heart-related.
Furthermore, anxiety and panic attacks can also manifest as palpitations. If you have a history of anxiety, it is possible that your symptoms could be exacerbated by stress or anxiety, leading to the sensations you are experiencing. The mind-body connection is powerful, and emotional states can significantly impact physical sensations.
In your case, since you have a known history of stomach issues, it would be prudent to consider whether your gastrointestinal condition is contributing to your symptoms. Conditions like GERD can cause discomfort that may mimic or trigger heart palpitations. Additionally, if you are experiencing any form of esophageal spasm, it could also lead to sensations that feel like palpitations.
It is also worth noting that the sensation of a heartbeat in the throat area can be related to the vascular structures in that region. When you are aware of your heartbeat, especially during episodes of discomfort or anxiety, it can amplify your perception of these sensations.
Given that your heart rate remains stable and you have had previous evaluations that did not indicate any serious cardiac issues, it is likely that your symptoms are more related to your gastrointestinal condition or anxiety rather than a direct heart problem. However, it is always essential to consult with a healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation, especially if your symptoms persist or worsen. They may recommend further investigations, such as an echocardiogram or gastrointestinal studies, to rule out any underlying conditions.
In summary, while your symptoms may feel concerning, they are likely related to your gastrointestinal issues and possibly anxiety rather than a direct heart problem. It is essential to manage both your stomach condition and any anxiety you may be experiencing. Lifestyle modifications, such as dietary changes, stress management techniques, and possibly medication for anxiety or gastrointestinal symptoms, may help alleviate your discomfort. Always consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice and treatment options. Thank you for reaching out, and I hope this information helps clarify your concerns!
