I have two questions?
On December 5th and 6th, my period ended, and I had unprotected intercourse with my boyfriend, but he did not ejaculate.
On the 12th and 13th (which was around my expected ovulation period), I noticed brown discharge that lasted for several days.
On the 26th, the day I was supposed to get my next period, I also had brown discharge.
After having intercourse that day, I only wiped clean and did not rinse.
Starting on the night of the 27th, I began to experience some urinary tract infection symptoms, but after drinking more water, I felt a bit better.
I still have some brown spotting, but my menstrual blood has not appeared, and I am a bit worried about being pregnant...
Thank you, doctor.
🙏

Hello, the chances of pregnancy seem low; it is possible that your period is about to arrive.
You may want to wait another week, and if it still hasn't come, I recommend seeing a gynecologist.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
When it comes to concerns about brown discharge and the possibility of pregnancy, it’s essential to understand the various factors that can contribute to these symptoms. Based on your description, you had unprotected intercourse on December 5th and 6th, followed by brown discharge around your expected ovulation period (December 12th and 13th) and again on the expected date of your next menstrual period (December 26th). You also mentioned experiencing some urinary discomfort, which could indicate a urinary tract infection (UTI).
Understanding Brown Discharge
Brown discharge can occur for several reasons, and it is often related to the shedding of old blood that may not have exited the body during the last menstrual cycle. This can happen at various times in the menstrual cycle, including:
1. Ovulation: Some women experience light spotting during ovulation, which can appear brownish due to the presence of older blood.
2. Implantation Bleeding: If you were to conceive, some women experience light spotting when the fertilized egg implants into the uterine lining. This is typically lighter than a regular period and can be brownish in color.
3. Hormonal Fluctuations: Changes in hormone levels can lead to irregular bleeding or spotting, which may appear brown.
4. Menstrual Cycle Irregularities: If your cycle is irregular, you may experience unexpected spotting or discharge.
Pregnancy Concerns
Given that you had unprotected intercourse, there is a possibility of pregnancy, especially if it occurred around your ovulation period. However, since you mentioned that there was no ejaculation, the risk of pregnancy is significantly reduced, but not entirely eliminated. Pre-ejaculate fluid can contain sperm, and if it came into contact with the vaginal area, there is a slight chance of conception.
Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
Your mention of urinary discomfort starting on December 27th raises the possibility of a UTI. UTIs can cause symptoms such as:
- Frequent urge to urinate
- Burning sensation during urination
- Cloudy or strong-smelling urine
- Lower abdominal discomfort
It’s important to address UTIs promptly, as they can lead to more severe complications if left untreated. Increasing your water intake is a good first step, but if symptoms persist, you should consult a healthcare provider for appropriate testing and treatment.
Next Steps
1. Pregnancy Testing: If your next period does not arrive as expected, consider taking a home pregnancy test. These tests are most accurate when taken after a missed period.
2. Monitor Symptoms: Keep track of any additional symptoms you may experience, such as changes in discharge, abdominal pain, or any other unusual signs.
3. Consult a Healthcare Provider: If you continue to have brown discharge, experience significant discomfort, or suspect a UTI, it’s advisable to see a healthcare provider. They can perform a thorough evaluation, including a pelvic exam and possibly a urine test, to determine the cause of your symptoms.
Conclusion
While brown discharge can be concerning, it is not always indicative of pregnancy. Given your recent sexual activity and the timing of your symptoms, it’s essential to remain vigilant and consider taking a pregnancy test if your period is late. Additionally, addressing any urinary symptoms with a healthcare provider will help ensure your overall reproductive health. Remember, open communication with your healthcare provider is key to addressing any concerns you may have.
