Shrinkage of the testicles and penis?
In the past month, I have noticed a significant reduction in the size of my testicles and penis.
The consistency of my ejaculate has also changed from thick yellowish-white to a clear, non-viscous fluid.
What could be the issue? Will my testicles and penis be able to return to their original size? I apologize for disturbing you at night, and thank you for your response!

Dr. Li Xinyi reply Urology
It is quite unlikely for the penis and testicles to shrink.
The size of the testicles can only be accurately assessed through ultrasound.
If there is indeed a reduction in size, it may be necessary to visit a major hospital's endocrinology and metabolism department as well as the urology department for blood tests to check hormone levels.
As for semen analysis, it would be more accurate to consult the urology department for a semen examination.

Testicular and penile shrinkage can be concerning for many individuals, and it is important to understand the potential causes and solutions. The changes you are experiencing, including a perceived reduction in size of the testicles and penis, as well as alterations in the consistency of your semen, may be indicative of several underlying issues.
One of the most common causes of testicular and penile shrinkage is hormonal imbalance, particularly involving testosterone levels. Testosterone is crucial for the development and maintenance of male reproductive tissues, including the testicles and penis. A decrease in testosterone can lead to a reduction in size, as well as changes in sexual function and libido. Conditions such as hypogonadism, where the body does not produce enough testosterone, can be a significant factor. This condition can be caused by various factors, including aging, obesity, certain medications, and underlying health issues such as diabetes or pituitary disorders.
Another potential cause could be related to vascular health. The penis relies on proper blood flow for erection and overall size. Conditions that affect blood circulation, such as atherosclerosis or diabetes, can lead to erectile dysfunction and changes in penile size. Additionally, psychological factors such as stress, anxiety, or depression can also impact sexual health and function, leading to perceived changes in size.
In terms of semen consistency, the changes you described—from thick, yellowish-white to thin and transparent—could be related to several factors. Dehydration, dietary changes, or hormonal fluctuations can affect semen quality. It's also worth noting that certain infections or medical conditions can alter the characteristics of semen, so it is essential to consider these possibilities.
Regarding the question of whether the testicles and penis can return to their original size, it largely depends on the underlying cause of the shrinkage. If the shrinkage is due to a reversible condition, such as hormonal imbalance that can be treated with testosterone replacement therapy or lifestyle changes, there is a possibility for recovery. However, if the shrinkage is due to irreversible factors, such as aging or certain medical conditions, it may not be possible to restore them to their previous size.
It is crucial to consult a healthcare professional, preferably an endocrinologist or urologist, who can conduct a thorough evaluation. This may include blood tests to check hormone levels, imaging studies, and a comprehensive review of your medical history and symptoms. Based on the findings, they can recommend appropriate treatments or lifestyle modifications.
In summary, testicular and penile shrinkage can stem from hormonal imbalances, vascular issues, psychological factors, or changes in semen quality. Seeking medical advice is essential to determine the underlying cause and explore potential treatments to address your concerns. Remember, open communication with your healthcare provider is key to finding the right solutions for your situation.
