Oral sex cannot result in pregnancy?

Hello doctor, after my girlfriend performed oral sex on me and we kissed, I secreted some fluid which I am unsure if it was pre-ejaculate.
After that, I performed oral sex on my girlfriend who is currently in her ovulation period.
Is there a chance she could become pregnant from this? Thank you.

Oral sex and kissing, in general, do not lead to pregnancy, even during a woman's ovulation period. The primary reason for this is that pregnancy occurs when sperm fertilizes an egg, which typically happens through vaginal intercourse. In the scenario you described, where oral sex and kissing occurred, the likelihood of pregnancy is extremely low.

To elaborate further, let's break down the components of your question:
1. Sperm Viability Outside the Body: Sperm cells require specific conditions to survive and remain viable. When sperm is exposed to air, saliva, or other substances outside the female reproductive tract, its viability decreases significantly. In your case, if you had some pre-ejaculate or semen in your mouth and then kissed your girlfriend, the sperm would not survive long enough to cause pregnancy.
2. Oral Sex and Sperm Transfer: If you performed oral sex on your girlfriend after engaging in oral sex with you, the chances of any viable sperm being transferred are minimal. Even if some sperm were present in your saliva, the act of kissing and the subsequent oral sex would not create a conducive environment for sperm to survive or travel to the vagina.

3. Ovulation Period: While it is true that a woman is most fertile during her ovulation period, the method of sperm transfer is crucial. For pregnancy to occur, sperm must be deposited in the vagina, allowing it to travel through the cervix and into the uterus to fertilize an egg. Oral sex does not facilitate this process.

4. Pre-ejaculate Fluid: Pre-ejaculate (pre-cum) can contain sperm, but the quantity is typically much lower than that found in ejaculate. If there was any transfer of pre-ejaculate to your girlfriend during oral sex, the chances of pregnancy still remain very low, especially considering the circumstances you described.

5. Kissing and Its Effects: Kissing does not contribute to the risk of pregnancy. It is a form of intimacy that does not involve the reproductive organs directly and therefore does not facilitate sperm transfer.

In summary, based on the information provided and the understanding of human reproduction, the activities you described (oral sex and kissing) do not pose a risk for pregnancy, even during your girlfriend's ovulation period. If you have concerns about pregnancy or sexual health, it is always advisable to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice and guidance. Additionally, if you are looking to avoid pregnancy, consider discussing contraceptive options with your partner to ensure effective prevention.
