Discomfort or soreness in the anal area?

1.
I went for an examination regarding my rectum, and the doctor said I have mild hemorrhoids, possibly caused by frequent trips to the bathroom due to previous stomach discomfort.
Now, I sometimes feel a soreness in my anus and have difficulty passing gas, as if the gas is trapped.
Just now, after applying ointment, I was able to release gas immediately after removing the applicator.
Why does the gas get trapped there?
2.
Also, why do I go to the bathroom three times a day, with one of those times feeling no sensation in my stomach, but just a feeling of fullness in my rectum, and when I squat to use the toilet, I can push it out? The first two times were normal bowel movements.
3.
Now, I find that every morning when I wake up, I feel the urge to have a bowel movement, even though I have no sensation in my stomach, which wasn't the case before.
Now, when I go to the bathroom, I only finish the bowel movement that I feel, and it takes about ten seconds.
Previously, I would sit for a while longer and continue to have more bowel movements, but now I feel like my rectum has lost strength.
4.
The doctor prescribed me Gasker 50 mg (Polydimethylsiloxane), Ningzhi swelling capsules, and 20 mg of Weili Zhan film-coated tablets, as well as Nanguang Changbin tablets.
5.
I have undergone stool tests and a digital rectal examination, and the doctor said there is nothing to worry about, but I still feel anxious.
What should I do?

Hello: 1.
Please pay attention to whether there is bloating or abdominal distension.
If not, there is no need to worry.
Additionally, if the condition of the skin lesions is more severe, it may affect gas and bowel movements.
You may consider consulting a colorectal surgeon for evaluation.
2.
The feeling of fullness may be related to a sense of urgency to defecate, which is caused by increased pressure in the rectum.
3.
It is normal to have a bowel movement once every morning; if you feel you haven't fully evacuated, there's no need to be overly concerned.
You can wait until you feel the urge to go again later in the day.
4/5.
There is really no need to worry too much at this point.
Pay attention to your diet and mental stress, and consider whether there have been any changes compared to before, as these factors can have an impact.
If symptoms persist, you may return for a follow-up visit to evaluate the necessity of a colonoscopy.

Understanding anal discomfort can be a complex issue, often involving a variety of factors including diet, bowel habits, and underlying medical conditions. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing symptoms related to mild hemorrhoids, which can indeed be exacerbated by changes in bowel habits or gastrointestinal distress. Let’s address your concerns one by one.

1. Why does gas feel trapped? The sensation of gas being trapped in the rectum can be uncomfortable and is often associated with the presence of hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids can cause swelling and inflammation in the anal area, which may lead to a feeling of pressure or fullness. When you attempt to pass gas, the swollen tissue can obstruct the normal passage, making it feel like the gas is stuck. This can also be compounded by constipation or irregular bowel movements, which can lead to a buildup of gas.

2. Why do I feel pressure without the urge to go? The sensation of needing to use the bathroom without the typical urge can be attributed to several factors. It could be related to changes in your bowel habits, such as increased frequency or urgency due to dietary changes or stress. The feeling of pressure in the rectum, even when you don’t feel the need to defecate, can indicate that your bowel is full or that there is a buildup of gas or stool. This can happen if your body is adjusting to new medications or if there are changes in your diet that affect digestion.

3. Why has my bowel habit changed? The change in your bowel habits, such as feeling the need to defecate immediately upon waking, can be influenced by several factors, including diet, hydration, and stress levels. It’s not uncommon for people to experience changes in their bowel patterns due to lifestyle changes, medication, or even anxiety. The fact that you previously had more time to sit and relax while using the bathroom suggests that your body may be adjusting to a new routine or that your gastrointestinal system is reacting to something in your diet or lifestyle.

4. Concerns about medication and ongoing symptoms: The medications you mentioned, such as simethicone (Gas-X) and other gastrointestinal agents, are typically used to relieve gas and bloating. If you are still experiencing discomfort despite taking these medications, it may be worth discussing with your doctor. Sometimes, the underlying cause of gastrointestinal symptoms can be multifactorial, and it may take time to find the right treatment plan.
5. Reassurance and next steps: It’s understandable to feel anxious about your symptoms, especially after undergoing examinations that did not reveal any serious issues. However, it’s important to trust your healthcare provider’s assessment. If your symptoms persist or worsen, consider scheduling a follow-up appointment to discuss your ongoing concerns. Keeping a diary of your symptoms, dietary habits, and bowel movements can provide valuable information for your healthcare provider to help identify any patterns or triggers.

In conclusion, while mild hemorrhoids and changes in bowel habits can be uncomfortable, they are often manageable with lifestyle adjustments, dietary changes, and appropriate medical treatment. If your symptoms continue to cause you distress, don’t hesitate to seek further medical advice. Remember, open communication with your healthcare provider is key to finding relief and understanding your condition better.
