Blood after urination?
A week before May 28, I noticed slight blood in my urine, so I thought my period was starting and used a tampon, but there was only a little bit of blood, and then it stopped.
On May 28, while taking a shower, I started my period and experienced heavy bleeding along with severe abdominal pain.
One day, after the abdominal pain subsided, I began to feel pain radiating from the right side of my neck down to my wrist.
After that, my period ended, but now I have been experiencing blood in my urine every time I urinate.
Sometimes there is blood only when I wipe, and other times there is a pool of blood in the toilet, similar to menstrual bleeding, but it is not mixed with urine.

Hello! It is recommended that you visit a urologist or gynecologist for an internal examination (it may not necessarily be invasive; you can refuse if you have concerns) to clarify your condition (vaginal bleeding, urethral bleeding, or other lesions).

More Info
Experiencing blood after urination can be alarming and may indicate a variety of underlying medical conditions. In your case, it seems that you have been experiencing blood in your urine intermittently, which can be attributed to several factors. Let's break down the potential causes and what steps you should take next.
Possible Causes of Blood in Urine
1. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI): One of the most common causes of blood in urine, especially in females, is a urinary tract infection. Symptoms may include frequent urination, burning sensation during urination, and lower abdominal pain. If you have a UTI, it is essential to seek medical treatment, as antibiotics can effectively clear the infection.
2. Kidney Stones: The presence of kidney stones can cause bleeding in the urinary tract. They can cause severe pain, often described as sharp or cramping, and may lead to blood in the urine. If you suspect kidney stones, imaging studies like an ultrasound or CT scan may be necessary.
3. Menstrual Cycle Confusion: Given that you mentioned experiencing bleeding that you initially thought was related to your menstrual cycle, it’s possible that the timing of your menstrual cycle could be influencing your perception of blood in your urine. However, if the bleeding is distinctly separate from your menstrual cycle, it should be evaluated.
4. Bladder or Kidney Issues: Conditions such as bladder infections, bladder stones, or even more serious issues like tumors can cause blood in the urine. If there is persistent bleeding, further evaluation through imaging studies or cystoscopy (a procedure to look inside the bladder) may be warranted.
5. Other Causes: Other potential causes include trauma to the urinary tract, certain medications (like blood thinners), or systemic conditions that affect blood clotting.
Recommended Actions
1. Seek Medical Attention: Given the persistence of blood in your urine, it is crucial to consult a healthcare professional. They will likely perform a urinalysis to check for signs of infection, blood, or other abnormalities. Depending on the findings, they may recommend further tests such as imaging studies.
2. Document Symptoms: Keep a record of your symptoms, including when the blood appears, any associated pain, and other symptoms like fever or changes in urination frequency. This information can help your doctor make a more accurate diagnosis.
3. Hydration: Ensure you are drinking plenty of fluids, as this can help flush out your urinary system and may alleviate some symptoms, especially if a UTI is present.
4. Avoid Irritants: If you suspect that certain foods, drinks, or medications may be irritating your bladder, try to avoid them until you can consult with a healthcare provider.
5. Follow-Up: If you receive treatment for a UTI or any other condition, ensure you follow up with your healthcare provider to confirm that the issue has resolved and to discuss any further steps if bleeding persists.
Conclusion
Blood in urine is a symptom that should not be ignored, especially if it is recurrent. While there are many potential causes, ranging from benign to serious, a thorough evaluation by a healthcare professional is essential to determine the underlying issue and appropriate treatment. Please prioritize scheduling an appointment with your doctor to address these concerns and ensure your health and well-being.
