There is a spot on the right testicle that feels slightly sore, numb, and has a mild pain when touched?
Hello doctor, I usually do not experience pain in my testicles, but there is a point about half a centimeter from the connection of the right testicle and the vas deferens that feels slightly sore and numb when touched, accompanied by a mild pain sensation, similar to the feeling of a pinched nerve in the hand.
However, when I touch the same point on the left testicle, I feel nothing.
Additionally, I do not typically experience a burning sensation during urination (only occasionally, perhaps once every couple of months, and it usually resolves the next day).
Could you please advise what might be the issue? Thank you!

Hello: It is likely a neurological or vascular circulation issue (if there are no lumps).
You may try to avoid prolonged sitting and ensure that your underwear is not too tight.
Wishing you good health.

Experiencing pain or discomfort in the testicles can be concerning, and it’s important to understand the potential causes and when to seek medical attention. The symptoms you describe, particularly the localized discomfort in the right testicle near the connection to the spermatic cord, could be attributed to several factors.
1. Epididymitis: This is an inflammation of the epididymis, which is the tube that stores and carries sperm. It can cause pain and swelling in the affected testicle. Epididymitis can be caused by infections, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or urinary tract infections (UTIs). Symptoms may include pain, swelling, and sometimes fever.
2. Testicular Torsion: This is a medical emergency that occurs when the spermatic cord becomes twisted, cutting off the blood supply to the testicle. Symptoms typically include sudden, severe pain in one testicle, swelling, and nausea. While your pain seems to be more localized and not sudden, it’s important to be aware of this condition.
3. Hernia: An inguinal hernia occurs when tissue, such as part of the intestine, protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. This can cause discomfort in the groin area and may radiate to the testicles.
4. Varicocele: This is an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, similar to varicose veins. It can cause a dull ache or discomfort in the affected testicle, often described as a feeling of heaviness.
5. Trauma or Injury: Any recent injury to the groin area could also lead to localized pain or discomfort.
6. Referred Pain: Sometimes, pain in the testicles can be referred from other areas, such as the lower back or abdomen. Conditions affecting the kidneys or bladder can sometimes cause discomfort that feels like it originates in the testicles.
Given that you mentioned the discomfort is not constant and does not typically accompany other symptoms like burning during urination, it might not be an urgent issue. However, the fact that you experience pain upon touching a specific point is worth investigating further.
Recommendations:
- Consult a Healthcare Provider: It’s essential to discuss your symptoms with a healthcare professional, especially if the pain persists, worsens, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as swelling, fever, or changes in urination.
- Physical Examination: A doctor will likely perform a physical examination to assess the area and may recommend an ultrasound to rule out conditions like torsion or tumors.
- Monitor Symptoms: Keep track of any changes in your symptoms, including the frequency and intensity of the pain, any swelling, or changes in urination. This information can be helpful for your healthcare provider.
Conclusion:
While there are several potential causes for the discomfort you are experiencing, many of them can be effectively treated if addressed early. It’s important to prioritize your health and seek medical advice to ensure that any underlying issues are properly diagnosed and managed. Remember, timely intervention can often lead to better outcomes, so don’t hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional for assistance.
